I purchased a Skaven Blood Bowl team. That puts me up to Human, Ork, Dwarf, Chaos, and now Skaven. With the addition of the Giblin team, I can make all sorts of combinations!

For the humans, orks, and dwarves, I did not even need glue to assemble them. The models just went together perfectly and seamlessly. The Chaos models need glue, and are more traditional style models.

I purchased (and built) a valiant and a renegade box on sunday and spent yesterday painting them.

Visited a new FLGS on the coast and found a box of 10 Dire Avengers for the cost of the current 5-man box. Also picked up some dollar store robots that'd be used as Castellan robots - only about $2 apiece. Further filled out my Custodes with some AoS easy-build retributors and liberators. Finally, picked up the Knight datacards while I wait for my Renegade box set and rulesbook to come in.

Local FLGS had a Father Day's sale. Picked up the AoS starter (the big one), Silver Tower and Dark Imperium for $150. Also grabbed a Vindicator and Custode bikers while I was at it at the other FLGS.

Ordered 5 large pots of Armageddon Dust, 2 large pots of Armageddon Dunes, and 3 regular pots of Nurgle’s Rot for future projects. Ah, and a pot of Ryza Rust to play with.

VG wise, Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, can't recommend it though it's a shadow of the regular series of games, lots of good things but wasted potential.

Tabletop wise I bought a C-Roc cruiser for X-wing and now just have to hunt down an Imperial Raider and I'll have all the released content.

Had some plastic palm trees arrive in the post today and picked up a cheap plastic house plant for 2.99 from a discount home store.
Pulled the plant apart and filled a zippy bag with bits to go on bases for some Pacific terrain. Think il wash them over in some green and brown inks.

My wife and I continue to funnel money into the Bones IV Kickstarter....

What began as a modest $200 pledge has grown to $600 - $10 to $20 at a time....

Just got my second Vic Minis Taurox conversion kit. The previous one required reinforcing with brass rod to make it useable but this newer version (the gamer edition) is built much more ruggedly and looks like it's up to the job from the off.

Some sacrifice of fine detail for real world durability is a price I'm quite happy to pay. Still looks great and (imo) a massive improvement over the derpy tracks of the original.

My love hate, scratch that just hateful, relationship with Spectre Miniature's shop front continues. I made an order with them last week, only for some items I wanted to come into stock today. Queue another order.

They handle stock in a really weird way, where they have a third party supply them with their products, which are then put up seemingly at random on their site. You can't buy an item until its up for sale, so have to sporadically buy things that you want and hope that the next day something that's out of stock doesn't go on sale. Or put off your order a day in case more stock comes in only to find that the other thing you want is now out of stock.

Ah, and no, they don't respond to messages querying when an item will become available.

Oh well, now to wait another week to finally finish building this damn model. Oh wait, the rocket launcher I want for it is also out of stuck. Argh!

Just picked up the Know No Fear box set yesterday, as I needed some more Hellblasters and Inceptors, as well as pretty much the whole Death Guard side.

I just bought a legion of the damned squad, always wanted the 97 release but was almost always out of stock when I had the monies for it.

I didn't need it, but I did want it and it is a beautifully presented product with a real premium feel.

My FLGS had a 25% off sale to celebrate their recent renovations and I snagged a Renegade box. Followed that up with a Warden box (for a third questoris knight) and ebayed a Valiant and two each of the armiger knights as well as a few bits (avenger gatling, rocket pods, a third autocannon)

Now I'm staring at three (mostly) assembled Wardens (magnetized to swap for any of the weapon options), waiting for the rest to arrive in the mail, and formulating my battleplan for spraying the lot of them silver and yellow.

The mechanicus one in particular is superb. I'm actually enjoying painting it.

I bought the anniversary Primaris marine model. Yeah, I know, but I needed an extra guy to fill out one of my squads and he was kind of different.

Benny Wolcomb and Freikorps Engineers for Malifaux. Benny rounds out my Bandits, and now I'm only 1 set (Winged Plague) off Hamelin's full thematic crew as well which is nice. Freikorps Engineers put me at needing 2 more Freikorps kits to round them out (Hannah and the Strongarm), but the intention was mainly to use them in a couple of upcoming tournaments. All 3 of my tournament builds I now fully own (Viktorias being fully painted, Von Schill and Parker only bought), so I just have to build and paint everything before the end of September.

Went in for Killteam, even though it meant missing out on the AT:GM box.

Kill team starter plus tape, cards, two dice sets, and the Scion and Genestealer sets.

I need to figure out how to hide those bright red boxes from the wife.

Just got the Sector Munitorum KillZone because 20% off 6 gothic shipping containers. Add in the haulers and $10 off certificate I had and the set becomes a no-brainer.

Went to my local gw store which is about 45 mins away and picked up the Guilliman mini and my first box of primaries marines. Oh and the dark imperium novel.

Looks like I’m building an ultramarine force now along side space wolves. Thinking old school yellow trim instead of gold plus using army painter ultramarine for the older blue.

Went into a store while it had a decent stock of D&D deepcut minis and finally got the beholder I had been hunting for along with some mimics, umber husk, slaad and teifling sorceri.

I tracked down almost everything for Arcane Legions (no Han Dragons or giant sphinxes). It uses info-laden cards on the included unit trays, which makes it less eye candy than almost all miniatures wargames, but I love the scale and it's fun. You'll find that you want up to 7 healers (every faction's healer comes in one of the League boosters with a shield robot). Han healers are Buddhist monks you'll want to put with the archers (the cheap blocker infantry you get are terracotta "constructs"), Egyptian are priestesses of Osiris who only revive undead, and the Roman priestesses can go with either line.

Went to the Adelaide Show and came across a market stall selling collectibles, tcg and boardgames. Found retail versions of Rising Sun and Zombicide: Green Horde each for $60AU.
I usually skip CMON stuff because I dont use Kickstarter and too much is Kickstarter exclusive but these were at a price point I couldnt resist, with the bonus of not having to worry about a postman eating the parcel.

It's a bit vintage, but purchased Bugman's pony and cart. It's nice to have a miniature holding a pint glass instead of a sword.

Varnish spray for 8 Dire Avengers and 10 Dark Reapers.
Now they are ready to take off.

Started by playing Battle companies with some friends and rapidly decided to expand.

Got my order in for the GW shop Primaris captain with plasma pistol and power fist, and noticed the last 30th anniversary Primaris Veteran Sargeant model in the shop so I gave the fella a home too!

Add in the 5 copies of conquest I bout now have 18 intercessors, a captain and a counts as lieutenant for a cheap battalion, ready to expand.

Just bought 40 Chaos Cultists from a friend, and picked up some used Space Wolves and a NIB Feculent Gnarlmaw at my FLGS.

I bought a Bolt Action Opel Blitz.

Managed to grab myself a cheap-ish Reaver Battle Titan for Adeptus Titanicus. Now I just need to wait for the magnets to come in, and I'll be able to start building and magnetizing the thing.

I just checked out those links and man I envy your terrain addiction!

Looks like you could keep a war zone supplied with all that.

I do intend to stick with Conquest so should end up okay. Also got the Sanctum Imperialis (I think) thingy that came with the original Knights Renegade set. Got a few days off coming up so it's gonna be full-on building terrain.

Walking Dead: All Out War- Solo Starter

Got myself huge pile of orks. About 3700 pts or so to my existing collection of 8500 pts orks. Big things for me are couple more dreads(yey), another battlewagon and KMK and ~150 more boyz. This way I start to have enough boyz for various clans(with this I should have 10 units of 30 so let's say 3xdeathskull, 3xevil sunz, 2xbad moon, 2xgoff). Darn clan rules incoming. Now to paint those buggers....

Also second stompa...I REALLY hope rules are better(and cheaper) in codex! Thoguh on the flipside I can do 2 different clans! Bad moon for one and...Umm...snakebite or blood axe would be best in game terms but snakebite stompa feels weird, sneaky blood axe ditto. Evil sunz might be good IF it allows shooting heavy weapons. Goffs...Well could be worse. Dethskulls no as 6++ just ain't good enough for stompa sized model. Investing KFF is no brainer. So either goff, evil sunz or blood axe.

Bought some white-tac to hold parts together while the 5 minute epoxy dries.

My brother bought a bunch of plastic Dwarfs off of a seller here, and this was followed up by some BFSP Miners to bulk out the unit, a Halfling Hot Pot and Long Drong's Slayers for his Dogs of War army.

Bought some of the new terrain kits for 40K. Been really enjoying that aspect of the hobby lately.

Adeptus Titanicus and Warlord Games Mid/Late War British infantry.

Made what is probably a foolish purchase yesterday. I picked up the box set of Mantic's Star Saga game on sale at my FLGS. Not even sure how much I'll use it to be perfectly honest. The miniatures looked cool, and it said it could be played solo (meaning I don't necessarily have to persuade my friends/family to play with me), so I went ahead and got it.

People have said the new version plays better than before, and I have a fair-few ships from before.
But, where to get 4 more Tie-fighter bases, as the conversion only has enough for 4?

A start collecting BA box, it had a 20% discount on it so it was basically the price of the Baal pred by itself

Got to talking to someone and agreed to buy a Doredo Dreadnought. I'm not certain why.

Picked up a second assault squad from the post office and got another 5 DW BA pauldrons, forgot to order the 32mm bases “d’oh”

Pair of reaver titans and dropship commander building set are my latest pre-pre-ordering warhound titans(so to speak) doesn't count.

Traded off some GSC excess and converted that into Pulp Alley card deck and a new campaign book for the game.

Finally bought a high flow nozzle kit for the airbrush

Super exciting stuff,basing material and tools. Vallejo Black Lava tub, couple of different sized spatulas for application, additional variants of xacto blades and tweezers for decal application.

Got some amazing ebay deals on Trollbloods for WM/H. Also brought some more paints for my airbrush as I'm getting low on some core paints.

Finally realized my dream of a mushroom forest thanks to stonecast resin garden ornaments in a 1 Euro shop

Made a pilgrimage to Nottingham today and came away with a Scorpion super-heavy grav tank. Largest individual model purchase I've made in terms of £. Walking round that exhibition hall does a really good job of convincing me to part with my money!

Excited to work on it. I've already spent ages scrubbing the release agent off.

Recently received my Dragonforge resin bases and the Firmer Terra Alpha game table. As well as a bunch of Scale 75 and Vallejo paints in order to do a display piece. Now I just need to find time to use this stuff .

I found at my FLGS and bought both "Battle at Calth" and "Burning of Prospero". They were the last of them and I was there to buy 2 bottles of "Scar White".

Depending on how complicated the Storyteller rules are, might go for the Vampire: The Masquerade deal on Humble Bundle.

Does the Storyteller system have a lot of stats or things to keep track of?

Yes and no. There's 10 base stats and around 20 skills (and they're all extremely intuitive), but the game is *very* deep into roleplaying. Over the many years I've played most of the time folks get so involved they may glance at their character sheet once during a session.

3rd warlord titan. This will be for Legio Mortis so I have both loyal and traitor legions. Maybe I can get more games in if I can provide legion for both sides! With orky leaks not being to my tastes and codex being week too late for 2 events I scaled down those for now in favour of more titans.

Well I'm not going to have some stormboyz on 25mm and some on 32mm. Unity. So it was quick clip them off from those darn 32mm bases and put on new 25mm bases.

Latest purchase: Warlord titan for legio mortis. In about 2h will buy new set of ruleset for AT. Extra command terminals needed anyway, more damage markers, new dices(hopefully less of "where's that location dice or reactor dice") and more weapon cards.

Just got a box of SM assault terminators for my son's new army. Think they might stay boxed until Christmas as we have a Land Raider to paint after his birthday yesterday.

He's got a captain, a tac squad and 5 intercessors to finish too, with my help. He does the armour, I do the details.

The finish he's been able to get (with a lot of help admittedly) by drybrushing the armour is quite surprisingly good. Makes me wonder why I spend hours trying to do proper edge highlighting...

And I've got plenty of my own models to paint - bought about 1,000 points worth of CSMs in the last month, mostly off ebay. I'm trying to do custom conversions on nearly all the models so it's slow going.

Heh yeah and if he's happy with the pace it's not even bad thing! After all he isn't in need of tons of expensive models all the time ;-) As long as kid isn't running into "2k or no game" type of situation he can enjoy the hobby much cheaper than many adults!

Hah, that's 7yo painting speed! He likes doing it but has quite a short attention span.

He's got a captain, a tac squad and 5 intercessors to finish too, with my help. He does the armour, I do the details.

The finish he's been able to get (with a lot of help admittedly) by drybrushing the armour is quite surprisingly good. Makes me wonder why I spend hours trying to do proper edge highlighting...

And I've got plenty of my own models to paint - bought about 1,000 points worth of CSMs in the last month, mostly off ebay. I'm trying to do custom conversions on nearly all the models so it's slow going.

Heh yeah and if he's happy with the pace it's not even bad thing! After all he isn't in need of tons of expensive models all the time ;-) As long as kid isn't running into "2k or no game" type of situation he can enjoy the hobby much cheaper than many adults!

He's said he wants to start playing 5-a-side 40k games, (his idea) which would be cool - loyal SMs against CSMs fighting over objectives in a Kill Team / Necromunda sort of way. Only problem with that is I think you'd need plenty of interesting terrain to make it work so I'm finding ways to knock up decent, cheap and quick terrain so we can have a go.

I also think he'd 'get' Blood Bowl and enjoy it - it's got that element of silliness that kids like.

I got the idea of drybrushing the marines from the September issue of WD - one of the GW scenery designers does it and it looks absolutely fine. He just said that you need a really big brush and very little paint.
I can verify - it works. Once I've painted the details and done the bases they will look great.

Yes and no. There's 10 base stats and around 20 skills (and they're all extremely intuitive), but the game is *very* deep into roleplaying. Over the many years I've played most of the time folks get so involved they may glance at their character sheet once during a session.

Kill Team Core Rules, Kill Team Wall of Martyrs Killzone and Kill Team Tempestus booster. I've decided against going big on 40k given I am really mainly interested in building up WFB armies and I only have so much time and money.

28mm is a stupid scale for 40k really unless you are doing squad level skirmishes like kill team otherwise sub 15mm is more appropriate especially if you want super heavies on the table. Kill Team will allow me a quick and easy game for scratching my 40k itch until Epic 40k is rebooted in the wake of Adeptus Titanicus (fingers crossed).

My current main 40k partner decided he would like to get into historicals (something I have been dabbling in for years). We bought a bunch of Rome vs. Gaul stuff from Warlord; a boxed starter set, Roman standard bearer, officers and auxiliary archers, Gallic chieftains and skirmishers and Vercingetorix.

I decided to expand my Freeborn force for Gates of Antares, since I managed to pick up a Plasma Bombard and Skyraider squad for about 50% in an ebay auction (and with $5 combined shipping from the UK).

I also bought a Vardanari infantry squad and a Mag Cannon support team to round out the force, so I can do a comfortable 1250 points.

Just got a second box of Rubric Marines and a Daemon Prince, plus some paints

exorcist, 10 sisters, and many many 3rd party bits. and had my celestine commissioned painted

A Hex Beast and the Apache Kid for my Lawmen in Wild West Exodus, and another couple of classic 80's Wood Elf Blood Bowl players (apparently I can never have enough of them!). Still telling myself that I can't buy any more Tyranids until I finish painting the current batch

Use it as scenery on a base, like a wreck of an enemy .... or a rusted heap of Necron as an objective marker

Well, I had a game with my CW+Harlies (one detachment each) vs. Mechanicus at the 2000 pt level.
I thought to extend my Harlies (all characters, 3 Troupes, 3 Starweavers) but I wasn't convinced about their performance.
So I saved money for something else.

Picked up the older resin Riddler starter and Reverse Flash off a friend, looking at using them mainly for Suicide Squad. Reverse Flash looks great though, so he's replacing my older model in my Rogues list once he's painted.

Bought the Wierdboyz-Ironjawz starter to get my 40k orks infantry going.

Got a copy of Imperial Knight Renegade as a gift for painting a store army. Bought a Crusade case to go with it, based on promises made in GW propaganda.

Two Getting started Tyranid boxed sets and a classic metal Zoanthrope - I think I'm having a Tyranid relapse!
