While looking threw GW web page I found this wallpaper, I am guessing this is going to be the cover art for the new Emprie Book. http://us.games-workshop.com/games/warhammer/extras/wallpaper/images/5-1024x768.jpg

SWEET. Just make it a bit more grandiose and it'll be like something from the Renaissance! That's a great picture. It's a lot better than the fuzzy ACTION PACKED motion blur pics.

I dunno, it doesn't look anything different than the more recent artwork on the various Empire box sets, none of which remotely invoke "Renaissance" to me. This is almost certainly not by accident either, as Blanche's art direction has taken pains to avoid trademarks of that particular epoch in art history (at least, not without seriously warping and twisting it to his own fabulously warped vision). As for the cover's quality, there are several things I don't like. Namely the overwide color palette, particuarly the hyper vivid sky and neon green magic fire. Yech. I like what they were trying to do, but I think the artist didn't quite succeede here.

Why is Heresy miniatures's Netherlord on the cover of the empire book? The alter looks good but were are the big guns?

Hmmm. The new White Dwarf has that pic on page 30 and it doesn't say anything about it being the cover of the new Empire army book.

Given the orientation, I'd doubt it's for a cover. Also, considering there's a whole second army on there, I'd also hesitate to say it's a cover for any given army book.
And if that's the new War Altar, holy Sigmar!

Your guess is incorrect. This art is the two page color frontispiece in the new WHFB 7th rulebook. It's also the wrong shape to be an army book cover. It's a great piece of art, but both Warseer and Dakka are most likely incorrect that this art is the Empire cover art. Unless they reuse it...which is unlikely.

Absolutely. It looks more as if it's the concept for a Warhammer boxed set with Empire vs Beasts. Too wide for an army book cover, and even if they clip it the focus of the picture will be wrong.

The cover will be: Empire fighting the vile hordes of gobbos. There will also be an empire hero standing on top of a pile of slain enemies. It will follow the pattern of most of the army books.
