Eh, other than Sisters of Battle and maybe Angels of Death there's nothing super expensive from the 2E books, and even those two don't come close to what a nice vintage Rogue Trader costs. I don't think there's the market to loop back around into further editions. Even the RT Ork books are cool but probably not as worth doing as the two Realm of Chaos books were.

Mine was ordered on the old site and showed up yesterday. I'm in California, btw.

The modern printing shows some issues with printing light blue and red over black, and the army/battle photos are a little dark too. I'm surprised they didn't do anything to address that.

Still, I'm quite happy with it.

Good eye. The images have lost a bit in the process. There's some compression and loss of mid-tones that results in a little muddiness. It's less noticeable in the b&w images, but it's still there. The book still looks good, but I wouldn't call this a great printing.

Hope they do a run of the 2nd edition books, but not holding my breath.

I really dont recall thinking the original softback was of superb printing quality either. Perhaps all the original flaws are just presented as they always were?

I looked at the reprint side by side with the original softback. Original was better. (We're not talking huge degrees here, and to an untrained eye, the reprint is perfectly fine.)

Honestly, I would pay good money just for a high quality digital version. Same for the RT stuff. It kind of seems silly that this kind of thing isn't available from them already, it would be a good avenue to make a few quick bucks.

Those, uh, certainly exist. GW sure isn't gonna go back and make modern-formatted ePubs or anything so scans are as good as you're gonna get.

I'd rather they reprint the Warhammer 40K Compendium.

I see, thanks for the clarification! The pictures (photographs) on that book always feel very blurry in my memories, so no particular loss there, but it sucks if the drawn illustrations look noticeably worse. I will never know for myself, as I will not be opening the shrinkwrapping on my copy

Mine just arrived in the UK. If you recall it was a replacement for one I bought at Warhammer World with a damaged corner. Not sure if that got me to the front of the queue or not?

It didn't appear in my orders on the online Warhammer Shop, either before or now, but again, perhaps that's because I didn't actually pay for it.

Anyway, it looks like a new batch of Print to Order copies have arrived in the UK.

It looks perfectly fine. The line art is great, and the photos are good enough.
Open that baby up and read it. A random reprint of some obscure nearly 40 year old game manual isn't going to have any collector's value.

F - is the Fire that rains from the skies.
U - for Uranium Bomb!
N - is for No Survivors...

I'd imagine mint copies will sell for a reasonable amount once this Print to Order run is history. The Realm of Chaos books sell for about double RRP. Still, I'd open it and enjoy it

Some of the available stuff isn't particularly great quality. It would be nice if we could get some really nice high quality scans from the source which we could print off etc.

I will keep on using my original softback and the scans I have of it, thanks. I want my hardback copy to remain sealed in the family vault for the coming generations. If you cannot respect that, I dont know what to tell you

That's good to know. I haven't gotten a notification yet and this "we don't show your order on your account until we deliver it" malarkey makes me a bit anxious.

No notification, or order history, but it arrived today!
Whoohoo.

On the other hand, GW's use of packaging could be a little greener.

Packed safely with lots of paper tubes, but I'm sure a smaller box would have done.

I was in the same boat but got my shipping notification yesterday. So they do appear to have the orders even if they are not visible in the webstore.

Got a shipping notification via email, it will be here by Wednesday. Can't wait to get my hands on it and start reading, scrolling through a PDF on my PC just isn't nearly as enjoyable.
