Interested in getting into the hobby and looking to make a paint up a fairly competitive non Abaddon Black Legion 2k roster. Was looking at the Abaddon deathstar and thinking it looked strong, but kinda dull (big down the middle). Picking Black Legion because I like the color scheme best out of all the traitor legions. A couple of the choices in the roster are aesthetic over performance (ie. MoE over Exalted Champion). I've enjoyed mobile army's for most competitive games I've played (have limited table top experience for 40k itself) so I've tried to build an army that synergies w/that play style.

Anything clearly lacking from the lineup to compete as well as be a fun collecting project? Having models I like is a big component of what I'm looking for (I painted miniatures when I was younger and am fairly proficient) but I end up being quite competitive as well lol. Was thinking maybe backline fire power is lacking but wasn't sure how that would stack up on tabletop.

Any input would be greatly appreciated before I start investing $$ in models. Thank you!
