welp I kinda decided to return to the folds of the emperor's skirts with this one, I think the revealing of the reaver swayed me.
anyway I wanted to do a different theme so I decided to go for a more modern looking mechanised army.
First up I never want to paint another chimera again so I decided to pick up a bunch of these babies
I've always wanted a LAV in the IG and these guys seem to execute it perfectly.
As for the infantry themselves, well I drew alot of inspiration from the modern russian military in that a rag tag bunch of hardened bastards with a unifying uniform. There will be alot of variance, short sleeves, modded rifles, webbing etc
anyway heres the demo guy

Nice stuff. I like the shading and the 'realistic' look of the guardsman. And you've managed to pull off the bandana very convincingly.
It has to be asked right off the top: where are the vehicles from, and how much did they set you back? (link please?)
Nice work (as usual).

Very good start. I like the mixed look of the individuals, yet still being able to look uniform.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby. |

OMFG you are the nazi, german colours and a german cap on the (nazi-looking!) stormtrooper! *GASP*
Kidding, these look great, the Stormtrooper sarge most of all. I like the fact that they aren't sporting shiny colours for the most part, well except for that bandanna, but then again it's the only thing I think that doesn't fit (maybe muted down?)
Thumbs up, a great looking IG.

Great looking IG!
If you should run out of steam (or just want to go more elite), consider fielding these as Last Chancers. They're certainly detailed enough to justify it.

I love the reactive armor plating. I'm not however completely sold on the track design that you've gone with. I think a larger idler and drive wheel at the front and back respectively with the track hanging up off of the road wheels will give you a more realistic/working feel. Check out M113's for what I'm thinking of.
Everything else looks great though. A lot of small details that really set it off. Especially like the new exhaust system.

Heheh, really, that's what I was getting at ^_^. Add a drive wheel (toothed) to the assembly and 'pull' the track tight to make it hang and overall the look will be much more pleasing to the tread heads (like me! ^_^) out there.

Posting completely inappropriate links of a disgusting and mature manner disguised as innocent modeling links is sort of a no no.
And with that, we'll be locking this thread.
