Greetings everyone, I've been having a fun time in the 40k fandom as of late and fount a new store to play at. This has been my fifth game and now I own both a 1k Ork list army and a 1k Chaos Daemons army of Khorne. However, I'm planning on getting a third army up and running by the start of next year. That one will be Necrons.
I have 'some' models, but unlike my Ork or Chaos Daemons army I never really purchased anything but instead traded. What I have thus far:
x20 of Warriors (all in various condition, the guy I've traded with was sort of a pack rat)
x5Lychguard
x3 Triarch Praetorians.
Now, I know this isn't much. But thus far this has been a 'trade and build up' force that I originally wanted for Kill Team. What is a good way to get started with Necrons to cover the fundamentals? Should I get a Combat Patrol box or a Boarding Patrol boxset? Perhaps I should just buy the individual models one by one? I am thinking of making a Necron Lord character to roleplay with a bit so there is that.
PS: I'm more of a fluff and fun loving person rather than an WAAC player. I prefer infantry and elites with some light vehicles here or there over big models that cost a lot of points. I also like some melee here or there and some psychic powers (even if that's not in Necrons, their weird techno magic would do)
Any suggestions?
