DAKKA COMPANY:
Current status:

Original Post:
Lore Description:
A grot fighting force, consisting of a looted tank company. I expect to expand the lore some day.

Goal:
Imperial Guard (Astra Militarum) counts as Army. I am building a Tank Company, loads of Armored vehicles.

List (Updated):
2x Tank Commander
-1x Vanquisher (95% built, finial detailing)
-1x Demolisher (100% built, waiting on paint)
3x Leman Russ Battle Tanks (2 95% built, final detailing, 1 not started)
2x Leman Russ Punisher (1 80% built, 1 not started)
1x Macharius, Vulcan
2x Basilisk (1 95% built, final detailing, 1 not started)
1x Trojan Support vehicle

1985 points in total

Thus Let the looting Begin:
I started with one Leman Russ, and with some application of force, sawing and cutting I removed the tracks. Using bits and plasticard I've built a new core to for a tank, thus turning 1 model into 2 models.

New tank Core:

I also built new tracks for the existing core of the Leman Russ Tank:

Thanks! I do love the working with plasticard and my goal is a completely kitbashed/scratch built army.

Updates!
Tank 2 is taking form, I think I want to replace the turret.

I started work on tank 3, I think this will be one of the two "Tank Commanders"

I'm liking the little chequered patterns and the teeth. I'll need to remember that for myself next time.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

You are off to a great start! I am looking forward to seeing more!

I really enjoy how you spliced the landraider body with the guard style tracks for the command tank. It really changes the overall shape without going too far away from the overall Imperial design. Great stuff!

Oh those are some fun looking tanks! Really looking forward to seeing this one grow!

I feel you potentially need a Grotblade in the future as well, for larger engagements

Hell-Squig flame tank. Looted transport with a couple of fat oil squigs strapped behind a flaming torch with a grot “gunner” ready to poke them with a sharp stick.

That does make paint'em easier.

Well, I will say I did use Landraider track... because I am almost out of track, its a bit of a struggle right now.

theCrowe wrote:Great project. Looking forward to some Grot Basilisk action! Grotilisk? Why not.

That would be either "Fist of Mork" or "Foot of MorK" as Grots are Cunning yet Brutal

Thanks,
A grot blade is a bit large, I'm going to be building a looted Macharius, Vulcan because well Dakka.

No plans for a Hell Hound yet, but I might after finishing the bulk of the list.

So larger update, I'm almost done with 5 Leman Russes, of the 7 I need for the finished army:
Demo tank, is done if I don't add more details:

My Vanquisher, Scrap Hunter, is nearing completion:

Small Dakka tank, aka a Punisher, full heavy bolters and a stubber... going for that "Deff Arsenal" look:

Thanks for looking,
Comments and Questions always welcome...

So the real question is what to work on next, I need 2 more Leman Russes... or 2 Baskillis... or 1 Trojan Support Vehicle.... which should I work on next?

So many great features. I like the implication that “Leman Russ” is more like a classification of tank rather than the name of a particular model or design. Like many worlds and factories might produce their own variations of tank bodies all largely fitting the “Leman Russ” brief but not necessarily the same. And even looted and orkified you can still see a variety of chassis and turret designs underneath.

Thanks! Its on the list, but I started some artillery. As for the Macharicus I can't wait to start that bad boy, probably my last tank for this army build (current list), and I want to do a Deff Arsenal on it.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing about the Leman Russ there are so many variants that you'd think some different forgeworlds would build them slightly different.

So update, with the completion of another Leman Russ, I'm out of chassis for my main line battle tanks.
Thus the mighty "Foot of Mork" was my next stop/ build. This is a counts as "basilisk", still loads of paneling, detailing and riveting to be done before it reaches completion.

Question, once this one is done should I do a Trojan Support Vehicle or another Leman Russ?

Thanks! There was an Old Tutorial on Dakka Dakka, but the Images we're lost. I might remake the tutorial but that's for something in the future. The main parts are just some tubes cut and drilled to get the look right.

Nick ideas?! Well I chose to go slightly different and go Tank Destroyer, should have some good ideas.

So update, Holidays were a bit busy. Then work. Then Video games..... I've been procrastinating. So latest build is a Tank Hunter Destroyer, local club his all about heresy so I am running Marine killer tanks!
Hull work:

Track, which yes is 3d printed. Found a guy on Etsy selling the STL (Tiny Panzer Studios) and got a friend to print me some.... and I have more on order from him.
Those "custom" drive wheels are buttons that have been detailed up.

The Big GUN!, yes this is stolen from the Big Gunz kit, needs more modifications:
