So, what an absolute rollercoaster of a week and a bit. I've allowed myself to break from my strictness this morning in order to cheer myself up and actually relax after having my butt kicked up and down the street all week by work.
I've got 13 basic skellies built, based and primed, ready for painting, including their command group. I'll upload a picture once they're painted.
In the meantime, I've put together some characters.
Leading this army will be King Rahotehk.
I figured that there must still be some living things in Nehekara (there's a whole city of living people after all), so there must be living animals as well. King Rahotehk was interested in bird husbandry when alive, and this remains very much the same in death. He rides to battle atop his favourite of his flock, the great vulture Htuabi. He thrives in the thick of a battle, where he relishes in the opportunity to battle monsters or duel enemy generals. Losing himself in the whirlwind of combat, Rahotehk prefers to hand command of his legion to his sons once battle is joined.
Next is Rahotehk's eldest son, Prince Qahmos.
This prince captains his father's mounted troops, and leads from the front atop his chariot. Qahmos is a skilled strategist, and his cavalry charges have won many battles in Rahotehk's name.
Then there are two Liche Priests, Inebu and Ptemenes (left and right respectively).
Ptemenes is the right hand man of the High Priest Thaphos (haven't built him yet), and aids the hierophant on and off the battlefield with necromantic works. He was also appointed as the mentor and tutor for the young (a relative term all things considered) upstart Inebu.
Inebu is wild and ambitious, and would much rather channel the elements to unmake his foes on the battlefield than study texts and scrolls with his stuffy, old (again, relative) mentor Ptemenes. Often marching into battle among the common soldiery, he takes particular delight in watching the arms and armour of his foes turn to rusted ruin before they are impaled on the spears of his comrades.
Now that I've made these guys, I'll get back to the basics and get some skeletons painted up. Once I hit 35 spearmen I'll be moving onto the archers.
