I originally posted this in the DCM entertainment area but it only got a couple of reads so I thought I'd share it with the entire boards so more people will be encouraged to go see Warped Tour this year!

Well I drove 22 hours to get to Detroit- saw Dad, went to an amazing Muse show and got to be a VIP at Warped Tour...  and I only had to miss a week of work :p  Thursday, Rise Against, Emery and Billy Talent all put on amazing shows- there was so much energy you couldn't help but forget who you were and lose yourself in the music.

The show was amazing- I was backstage behind the drummer for the entire Thursday set, hung out with Thursday before and after their show.  I was also backstage for Rise Against, on their tour bus AND I'm in a documentry about them.   I also did the backstage/meeting stuff with Emery.  I was supposed to have full backstage/hanging out access with Underoath, but their record rep called me the morning before to inform me they couldn't make the tour.  She'll be getting back to me on Monday to let me know how the band is doing. 

If you're wondering how I'm so lucky to get all this stuff- my dad's in the music business so I grew up around this stuff all my life.  I hope no one is jealous - I kinda had to sacrifice some of my relationship with Dad since he lives in another province and is completely devoted to his work.  We're still close but I don't get to see him nearly as often as I'd like.

Anyway, I've got a digital camera full of pics of the shows, most of them from backstage   Anyone interested in seeing them?  They're at my buddy's house (I used his camera) but he's going to burn them on a cd and bring them to work tomorrow.

heh i'm going to warp tour in jersey this sunday!! Yeah i can't believe that Underoath canceled the rest of their tour dates w/ warped tour. I saw them at bamboozled here in jersey back in may (awesome 2 day concert). How is emery live? I can't wait to see Jersey's Finest: Thursday! I always love their shows lots of pit fun.

Emery was great- they really know how to play to the crowd. Although their bass player wasn't there so they had a kinda unimpressive replacement.
