You just need to make sure the versions match.

The Dakka server is still 1.1, so if you're trying to connect to that, just go to your Minecraft client options and click "Force Update". This should remove any snapshot release you've installed and restore the current 1.1 version.

Word of warning though, this will delete all your mods.

I haven't decided on a specific number, but it is more than one. We just had a certain person who seemed to be vouching everyone he knew and it got a bit out of hand... :-)

Basically the more people you vouch for, the more risk you take on, as if any single one of them griefs, you get banned too.

Maybe make it have sort of a tiered system or something.

i think it may have been a difference of version (server and client) when i tried. I tried yesterday and i got the not on the list message? I tried today and got "too long logging in message".

The "too long logging in" message may be because the Minecraft.net servers are flooded with people trying out 1.2, just keep trying.
As for the not whitelisted message, I spotted a typo in your name and have corrected it, (that's also why I couldn't find any attempts to connect, I was searching the wrong name) sorry about that! It should work now.

Not much can be done when the person greifing us is the server admins friend so he wont do anything to him...

That doesn't count as proof. You've both got records of bans on other servers, and your only defence is revenge because you say the admin did nothing.

How can we be sure that you're not just lying, given your previous record?

Thus far i haven't done anything to anyone on the server and it is only one offense quite some time ago.

Well spotted, and well said. There are plenty of immature server admins out there. Lololol5 is whitelisted, regular vouching rules apply, if either Altzer or backwardshotel(lololol5) grief or steal, then both are banned.

I am using a premium account and other servers are working. It may be due to the fact that I have the zeppelins mod installed right now?

Hey, just wanted to let everyone know that if you see random blocks of dirt in the water with torches or random torches that seem to lead in a pathway, i placed them as guiding beacons while me and possibly Necroshea (idk if he'll being using them or not) transfer supplies from our homes near the center of the map to our new homes as we ventured out to a new and so far unsettled (by dakka users anyway) land.

I'm apologizing now if my beacons are invading anyone's territory in any way and they will eventually be removed once transfer has been completed.

If anyone does have issues with it please, contact me about it

I'm having trouble connecting to the server. I've checked the online list to see if the server is running correctly and it is, but it still comes up with the "can't reach server" message. Have I been de-whitelisted, is this just a glitch, or what? Any help would be appreciated.

Just before I was banned, I was speaking to XBrutalBenX and he said that he'd been banned before. Is it possible for a ban to be lifted?

He meant he'd been banned from Dakka. All bans from the Minecraft server are permanent.

This is a shame. I'd love to come on again, especially seeing as I broke no rules myself. However, my vouch did break them, so it's justified.

@Anvildude, I believe a de-whitelist is upon request by owner of account. Ban is if they screw up real bad.

But then Skyrim came out and ya.....Ghosttown.

Server now shut down, but looking to get into multiplayer life again.

I am very machine orientated, and would love to find a space where i can experiment with gadgets. (killing machines, cobblestone generators, machine guns, etc)

i am getting the same as well using both direct connect and regular join server.
i was originally geting a time out error.

There were/are issues with the Minecraft login servers. It's up to them to fix :-(

I've never used HD texture packs (I just stick to default and occasionally dabble with other 16x16 packs), but I believe you need a "Texture patcher" to use HD packs fully. A quick Google leads here: http://www.minecraftdl.com/mcpatcher-hd-fix/ but I've never used that so you might want to check with others who have used HD texture packs first.

A lot of people have said use the MC patcher. Yes, that's one way of doing it, getting optifine multi-core for your latest minecraft (if you have a 2+ core processor, messes up single core processors. I have a quad core, so I use multi-core) works too. It has an in-built patcher, I believe. You just install it and it patches texture packs automatically up to 128x128 bit. See youtube on how to install.

I usually only tp people if they are stuck somewhere from outside their own control (such as ending up on the nether roof). It's fairly easy to get to various places in the world without tp. If it isn't, then you need to work your way there yourself anyway.
