A copy of a copy? Oi, Marvel... I liked X23 initially though I'm not a fan of her taking the name Wolverine... it's not a job or hereditary title like Sorcerer Supreme or Black Panther. Did they at least give her a cool name or is she X23(2) or something silly?

I'm personally a big fan of Laura's run on Wolverine, easily the most enjoyable run in years, and Logan was dead at the time.

Gabbie is, as said above, Honey Badger, and has an actual pet badger. She also is a clone of Wolverine (not really a clone of a clone) from the same dna batch of Laura's, which got stolen and weaponized by multiple shady agencies and conspiracies, the thwarting of which takes an important role on Laura's Wolverine run. She meets Gabbie when trying to shut one of those, and she was part of a batch of multiple "sisters" and mostly programmed killers (think black widows I guess?). All others get eventually killed off. Gabbie also can't feel pain, but I don't remember if that was just her of all the sisters.

I seriously thought that comment above was a joke (referencing the popular honey badger don't care! meme from years ago). I'm ok with Laura being her own hero and think she looks cool even in the similar outfit but my biggest experience over the past decade with her was in the Logan movie so can't comment on details (I haven't collected comics in two decades but I think I saw her in a cartoon years ago). I did make a point though of getting her heroclix fig (and I don't even own a Wolverine one, lol). Thanks for the info. Is Honey Badger basically Bucky to X23's Cap?

Surfing the Tervigon Wave...on a baby.

Gabbie is great.

The pet badger is a gift from Squirrel Girl as she thought that Wolverine and co. could talk to wolverines...and well, badgers are part of the same family so...

Also, her code name of Honey Badger is probably a reference to the meme to be honest - it was suggested as a codename by Daken who would have very much known the meme...but he put it to her a bit more nicely.

And her acceptance of the codename is one of the GREATEST comic panels I have ever seen.

Well ain't you a ray of sunshine.

Anyways @warboss... sorta? She's more the kid sister that's making them both be better at all that "being human beings" thing ^^.

She also gets along with Wade like a house on fire, for some reason.

Cool. I think it's a good idea for her to be in on the joke/meme. Speaking as someone who obviously had no idea she existed, she seems aged up to adulthood or at least late teenage years for the fig instead of a tween. I think I'd have preferred the latter (again as someone with no investment emotional or financial in the character or game) to differentiate her from x23. YMMV.

Good to hear. At this point, I suppose any character that's not a sociopath ecoterrorist who murders store clerks for other people's littering and suffers no real consequences is probably an improvement for Marvel as a template for a young female hero.

Not really. The biggest beef I have with the game is the distinct lack of villains.

No Sinister Six, no NY villains- except Kingpin, No Sentinels, No Kobra, No AIM, No Hydra, No Monsters or Mutant beasts, etc.

Even for Guardians- where's the Galactic threats?

On one hand, this is a great game- on the other, we need a variety of figures, not just the Flavor of the Marvel movies. Heroes attacking each other sends a completely different message then is intended.

I don't mind the figures, I just would ask for a different schedule of- Hero/ Villain/ Large Villain/ Spam Villain. Or even rules to add in your own.

hmmm... I kind of like that Idea.

Not sure what you mean by this. There's definitely more heroes than villains, but that's pretty true to the comics as well. A team of heroes rarely has more villains than members to go along with the whole "must work together to face a selfish evil thing". Right now it's about 2:1 on the heroes:villains thing. Of the 106 characters we've seen so far, I'd say 38 are distinctly villainous, 62 are distinctly heroic, and about 6 are a bit more nebulous or at the very least are members of distinctly villains affiliations. A lot of the stuff you're requesting is in the game; if you're just seeing hero on hero fights its a matter of players not wanting to be the bad guys I suppose. Brotherhood, Syndicate, Cabal, Black Order and Dark Dimension are all pretty fantastic teams to play.

AMG have thus far avoided adding in anything like generic henchmen or chaff for the 'heroes' to wade through so when you strip that element out then it's probably not too surprising that there's a higher ratio of the more traditional heroic aligned characters.

Sinister Six specifically I grant you could do with having more representation (though Spider-foes in general have plenty of members so it's hardly a glaring issue). Some more cosmic villains would be cool but it's not like there aren't any already.

It's been a long time since they've had releases be anything like linked to the 'current flavour of MCU' so I'm not sure where that suggestion comes from. The relatively obscure curveball they like to throw are sometimes weird (Cassandra Nova says hi...) but they're few and far between.

Also it seems very likely that they're going to put out some kind of Champions/Young Avengers/etc style team shortly. Notably Ms Marvel comes with a team up card for Miles but they aren't actually on an affiliation together currently.

Really Sin and Viper feel the biggest missteps, because they seem so similar and are visually kind of bland. Bad Girl with Gun and Bad Girl with Gun and Knife. I get wanting some female "global scale" villains, but pairing one of them with Moonstone, Titania, or Lady Deathstrike would have worked better IMO. Or if they didn't mind a city scale, Elektra and Typhoid Mary.

I can also see people being frustrated that some characters are getting multiple versions before their favorite gets a single release.

Not really many multiple versions to complain about. Black Widow which comes down to "was supposed to tie in with the movie and Spider-man which.... everyone wanted because they were disappointed with the Core set rules.

I do wish Viper was more interesting but Sin is a great addition. She adds a lot to Crossbones and makes a compelling addition in both Cabal and Syndicate.

The lack of Elecktra is super weird though.

Heroclix suffered from this as well. I mean, there were villains, but they were usually relegated to heinous rarities and as such, made using them basically next to nonexistant for quite a few options. The lesson here is not to take production cues from wizkids. Because if people wanted that kinda of crap heroclix pours out, then theyd just play heroclix.

Which means people 40 or older. Which means stuff that was popular from the late 70's to early 90s.

This is why there is resistance to newer and/or more obscure superdudes. Why buy them if you have no idea who they are, or dont care who they are?

Im not saying they shouldnt be made, because even the niche stuff needs attention. But why dont we have sinister six, but we do have other options? This is a valid question. One that not only affects the consumers who want more popular stuff, but also for the producers of the game who would benefit more from less niche offerings.

I may not know or care who honey badger is, but am open to what she could offer in the game.

But I'd still rather have something else. And I think thats the point that the perceived "haters" are making.

Spider Foes is Sinister 6. It’s just not called that because the nature of the game makes getting 6 characters on the table reliably pretty unlikely. Definitely want to see more (Sandman in particular) the recent wave is full of iconic members of the team.

That is a stupid reason. People have no idea what the Hell "Foes". They know what S 6 is. That'd be like not doing an A Force team because we can't get the whole team, or any other team.

I like this game but I have been turned off by some picks, Gabby in particular, whom is utterly one note as a character. So many other characters could be made to that have far more and could complement what we have already. Midnight Sons, The WCA, a bunch of folk already from both but missing just one or two members.

Instead we get..... HoneyBadger.....

I mean there are tons of villains, the problem is they all kinda live in Cabal as a faction.
Some villains where just solo players but by nature need a faction.

Kinda like showing how many different spider man versions are there in the spider verse crossovers.

They also don't really market the Affiliations. It's a factionless game at heart and sells characters. The names of the Affiliations really isn't that big of a deal. So they're not called Sinister Six? If that's what you're after you're still looking to buy Otto, Kraven, Mysterio which is getting you Carnage and Lizard and if that's what you're into Venom and Norman are pretty likely addtions to your wishlist. The name really isn't that big of a deal; I'm not sure why its such a hang up. I get wanting more. Sandman is high on my wishlist, particularly now that we've seen them do cool things with characters like Kamala, but its not like he's going to come in a pack with X-23. So I guess the question is, what character isn't in the game that you want so badly to care if they release something you don't really have to purchase?

You don't need to go multiverse on this one. Honey Badger is just the latest in a LONG line of Wolverine clones like Romulus, Wolfsbane, Feral, Native, Dakken, Wild Child, etc, etc, etc. So many at one point they tried to make them all a separate race of Lupine in that era where we needed Spider Totems and Agents of SMASH to group all the Spidey Clones and the Hulk rainbow.

Tombstone, Vulture, The Lizard, Rhino, The Abomination, Kraven the Hunter, Sentinels, Lady Deathstrike, Dr Doom, Hobgoblin, The Purple Man, Typhoid Mary, The Leader, Brother Voodoo...

That's just off the top of my head.

Basically, you get a hero, you put out a couple of villain's. It is what it is. I didn't write the rules.

Obviously we're going to seer more, it is just frustrating in the execution- and release schedule- that it's taking longer then it has.

I think we'll get Sinister Six one day, but Spider-Foes was released as an early faction so they didn't lock themselves into JUST the Sinister Six for early city level threats early in the release cycle. Instead, we got a wider variety of Spider-Man enemies, including Venom, Carnage, Kingpin, Green Goblin, and the Lizard. So while we don't have a Sinister Six, Spider-Man enemies are very well represented. As opposed to other factions which are barely present, or not at all (cough, cough F4). When you're starting out, general is better than specific when you want to just get your bases covered. You go Avengers, not West Coast Avengers (or dare I dream, GLA!).

Lizard, Kraven, and Voodoo are all available fwiw. Outside Deathstrike though, you’re not going to see any of these characters in a pack with X-23 and several of them are just as obscure. Even Purple Man despite being the best MCU villain.

Lizard, Kraven, and Brother Voodoo (now called Dr. Voodoo) are all out. The sentinel Raid is coming next year. Hobgoblin is basically just a palette swapped Green Goblin when it comes to powers/abilities, so probably low on their priority with so many other holes out there.

I mean... there are a lot of garbage nobody characters in the game. The Hood, Brother Voodoo, Bob, Cassandra Nova, Clea, Ronan, Sin, Viper, all terrible.

But some people have nobody characters they enjoy and it does nothing to detract from the game to include people literally no one has ever heard of. It's just nice for the 5 people out there that ARE big Clea fans or whatever.
