The math behind it is pretty amazing, I have to admit.

It's a nice fuzzy feeling for missile intercept, at some level. It proves the physics are possible at least.

As for the fuel tank, that's all well and good. but we didn't consider spending $60M to stop the fuel tank. There was cryptological gear on there that needed to be destroyed. National security (for realz) and all that. There was a safety factor as well. Not to mention, as I stated above, a free chance to test the ability to hit targets moving at those speeds.

Pretty impressive, nonetheless.

They should use something...the few episodes I stomached were boring as dry balls.

The series premiered during the writer's strike, didn't it?

But it was written by WGA members prior to the strike. Stuff is written weeks/months in advance.
