ive read some good BL books...rarely ever am i highly impressed..

but some books stand head and shoulders above the others...anything with Dan abnett is amazing...ive liked quite a few ben counter books...

some books just anger me to the max...like those HORRIBLE vampire count books...once i start reading a book the obsessive part of me requires i finish it...and when its 3 books that just blow goats and butcher all the fluff previously written im a tad bit on the angry side...

gotrek and felix books are always good..(And probably my favorite)

gaunts ghosts are amazing

the genevieve books are the only ones i could NOT finish due to utter lack of interest that happens...however that vampire chick picture on the cover is my dream girl....and probably why i made it so far into it...

and im absolutely enthralled by the horus books..one of them isn't nearly as good as the others (i believe its either the 2nd or 3rd..cant remember) but the fall of the eisenstein was pretty decent...it managed to even make me a little misty eyed when rogal dorn came into the picture...the whole "you just broke a brothers heart thing" sheesh shreds my heart and i don't even play space marines

right now im currently reading the 4th soul drinkers book...not thoroughly impressed but its still a good read...and i havn't noticed too many glaring typos

Gah. Do NOT mention the Gotrek & Felix books, because they are just awful. Of course, this is just my opinion so you don't have to agree.

Storm of Iron was pretty awesome, though. Gave a nice amount of information on the IW.

According to recent researches, all wizards are utterly and inreversebly gay.

I don't think you can judge Inquisition War too harshly - it's an innacurate title placed on an unfinished work that was leading towards resolving a plotline that isn't part of the background anymore, and it's been somewhat sloppily edited to try and make it fit.

Though Ian Watson should perhaps have a court order preventing him from ever writing a sex scene ever again.

Weird those are actually my favorites of the WH fantasy stuff.  I've since tracked down everything from Jack Yeovil/Kim Newman I could find.

Tastes differ I guess...

Eisenhorn Trilogy would have to be the best I have read.

Horus Heresy Series - excellent, although the second one isn't as good as the rest

I like the Bill King Space Wolf series (except the last one, Wolfblade, was kinda odd.)

Storm of Iron - excellent
Nightbringer, Warriors of Ultramar - fun reads
(Dead Sky, Black Sun - AVOID AT ALL COSTS)

Soul Drinker series - very cool, quality fluctuates throughout, but still cool
Grey Knight - cool
Dark Adeptus - CRAP

I read it and immediately fobbed it off to someone else in my club (who gets his ideas on how eldar work from it - he he. Silly cheesemongering IW player )

The only good BL stuff I"ve read was the Eisenhorn trilogy by Abnett- and I also like the "Jack Yeovill" written stuff (Drachenfels, the DARK FUTURE stuff) but that's because it was written by Kim Newman (who is a decent writer).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

So I guess everyone loved Eldar Prophesy. I had an interest in buying a copy, this thread saved me some time and money, thanks.
Question for those that read the book though. Did the novel take place on Craftworld Kaelor? I want to know more about the craftworld, but I don't think I want to suffer through such a bad novel to find out.

The book gives some random, unconnected geography along with a brief overview of two different "provinces" governmental style, but what little detail that is given often contravenes the fluff in the Eldar codexes. I would not use it as an example of how any craftworld operates.

Too bad. I guess I will just use their symbol and use my own color scheme and hope that nothing in the book contradicts it, or if it does that no one reads the book.
