Since I'm stuck at home with covid, feeling like crap and bored, I decided to check out Dakka since I very rarely visit, let alone post, after almost ten years. I then come across this thread and well... as it turns out, I was the painter that was the subject of Ouze's post.
Obviously, I had zero intention of stealing Ouze's heads and money because, a) he's a cool guy, and b) I'm not a thief. Nothing Ouze said was incorrect nor mischaracterized; I completely vouch for everything he wrote.
Even though I apparently have a post in the Swap Shop forum (which I totally didn't remember until I checked, and yeah, it's there) I hadn't taken a commission before his since sometime in mid 2017 because frankly, I don't like doing them. I took this one because it seemed easy enough and I've known Ouze from the
OT Forum for
years, back when politics was still the primary driver of conversation in here.
To clear a few things up: I'm not a scammer, depressed, a drug abuser, or any other fanciful thing floated about. What took so long you might ask? I have a stressful & demanding job, a working spouse, two children with activities, and I host a biweekly podcast. In short, I'm really busy most of the time. Since my hobby time is rather limited, I made a series of poor project/time management decisions while juggling this project along with my other obligations (primarily work for publications). Keep in mind, these aren't excuses and Ouze shouldn't have had to deal with any of this. It wasn't right.
On the bright side, and as Ouze noted, I completed the requested work and hopefully Ouze is enjoying them on this Sisters.
Also, please let this be a warning to everyone not to ask me to paint stuff for you.
