Do you like having your rules on paper, or are you fine with apps and PDF's?
I use almost exclusively paper rulebooks. Digital only when there is no other choice..
I frequently use both paper and digital depending on circumstances.
Digital because it's cheaper, but I'd rather have the rules on paper.
Digital as a matter of convenience and preference.

They deleted the old White Dwarf digital app, taking anything which hadn't been downloaded with it.

paper generally, though .pdf files are fine for reference at home, in game, paper - not had a problem with flat batteries on paper yet.

I did try digital list building with Flames of War, a few paid for lists, actually nice web site, easy to use, and produced useful references

then V4 came along and all the V3 stuff was taken down after a while, I've not bought anything in that format since

as others have noted, if its on paper it takes some effort to remove it from me, there are no "computer said no" moments and I don't find stealth updates are a problem

I see an awful lot of responses assuming my rulebooks are of the Games Workshop variety. Even if I were still on the GW treadmill/subscription service, I still don't think any of these app features would beat the "hold this spot with a thumb, hold this spot with the index finger, and flip to the chart in the back" feature of the ol' multi-page analog paper data storage medium.

The idea that rulebooks can be printed and invalidated in months is anathema to me.

You aren't making a serious game then, you are creating drafts of a game and selling them for money.

Would you buy a car that immediately needed a engine overhaul? Would you buy a stove where the front burner went out in two weeks after purchase?

Why we as consumers tolerate it in Wargames is beyond me.

They don't tolerate it. They DEMAND it.
