Got my subscriber copies of 27-30 today and had all 6 Gryph-hounds (all packaged in 27, not as spare sprues in 30).

For subscribers, we already got an Ogor Mawtribes Tyrant for one of the extra character packs: https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Ogor-Mawtribes-Tyrant-2020
And I've received an email saying that the next delivery will have a Skaven Warlock Bombardier if you don't opt out: https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Skaven-Warlock-Bombardier-2020

I was kind of hoping it'd be something on the Order side to go with the Stormcast Eternals this time.

How many of these extra character packs did they have during the Mortal Realms subscription? I thought they'd be more spaced out since we already had one 3 deliveries back.

I think the Mortal Realms extras were just three novellas, no characters at all. Or maybe one three-part novel, can't remember.
Imperium had two novellas and one character. Conquest had a lore book, art book and Silver Templar mini and paint set.

I think they've all had three "things" so far but the nature of the things has been very different.

Lots of subscribers got a notice their issues 31-34 have been delayed in the past few days, including me. Due to stock issues.

USA release email indicates special preorder offer - anyone know what that might be?

"Plus, there will be a special “Pre-Order” offer, in advance of the launch, where you will receive an extra special gift!

The good news is that you will be eligible to receive this time-limited offer – keep checking your inbox!"

"...and special thanks to Judgedoug!" - Alessio Cavatore "Now you've gone too far Doug! ... Too far... " - Rick Priestley "I've decided that I'd rather not have you as a member of TMP." - Editor, The Miniatures Page "I'd rather put my testicles through a mangle than spend any time gaming with you." - Richard, TooFatLardies "We need a Doug Craig in every store." - Warlord Games "Thank you for being here, Judge Doug!" - Adam Troke

Just picked up a couple of issue 32 from WH Smiths. £18 for forty gobbos is like being back in the 90s.

Just had an email saying that due to the success of the magazine they haven't printed enough and I won't get my delivery this month until the reprint finishes.

Coming to the US

Oddly, I received my issue 37 today from Forbidden Planet, which isn't due out until next week, even though I've not recieved issue 35 or 36 from them yet.

So... are these a good deal vs just buying the miniatures?

I don't keep up with AOS.

There’s a comprehensive breakdown of the savings to be made here, based on the UK release. Basically, yes, there are some very good deals to be had.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Edit:

I see the US release for this run is subscription only, so it’s an all-or-nothing kind of deal. In the UK, you could pick up individual issues from newsagents or from Forbidden Planet online. The article I linked does also show the overall savings to be made on the whole run.

Yeah for the Australian release if Conquest, it came out to I think a 50% saving over buying everything individually. I imagine it would/should be similar for the US.

It's give or take the same here in the UK.
And you get free bonuses while being subbed, some premium models (4 of them total) for £2 extra per issue and some scenery boards and game rules (saves you buying the manual) in the issues so that just sweetens the deal for me and has been an excellent starting point.

yeah it's about 50% off overall, but of course the value is only there if you actually want everything. Though might be quite easy to move stuff on

Yeah if you only want half the stuff then the value is lessened. You can recoup a fair bit by selling on what you don't want.

Oof!

Stormbringer First Delivery is only issues 1&2. $11.99 +tax

After that they're $67.96 +$10 s&h +tax.

Imperium has been $62.75 for normal shipments.

Imperium also hasn't ended yet. Still 2 more deliveries to be charged for.

I don't think Stormbringer is worth it.

If anybody wants to get into AoS with either of these factions, the current Starter set line, or even Dominion which is still all over, is a better launch point.

Yeah, I didn't subscribe in the UK - the value proposition was also hit by the fact you can still pick up the Dominion contents up dirt cheap.

But where we can get individual issues some are excellent deals.

You're comparing the Premium price for Stormbringer vs the non-Premium for Imperium, whose premium was a whole $3 less than Stormbringer each month. The Stormbringer page automatically selects Premium and you have to change it to the standard version.

Okay, so its $55.96 +$10 +tax (around $69.26)

vs.

$62.75 tax included

Still feels too high to me.

I do think you need to look at how many issues are just dominion models, which are really cheap on the secondary market. Imperium rereleased the Indomitus box, which sold out and held it's value, while many of the models in stormbringer are marginally free on ebay. You also have to want the GW paints that come with it.

That, and the US shipping costs, really kills my interest in it. Which is a shame, because I really like the idea, I just think that I'd rather spent $70 a month on what I want

yeah the premium Stormbringers is one of the most insane deals I've seen on GW models. the premium models are figures I would never buy separately but at these stonkin' huge discounts I have no problem finally getting them.

anyway subscribed immediately

I decided that if I wanted Dominion Kruleboyz and Stormcast I would just buy them. Things like binders and coffee mugs just don't have any appeal to me yet make me feel bad just tossing them out... i.e. negative appeal

This deal isn't for me

I saw this mentioned on Facebook, but the Krondys dragon "issue" is now purchasable directly from the Hachette site here:

https://hachettepartworks.com/en-en/warhammer-age-of-sigmar-stormbringer/krondys-son-of-dracothion/

At £45.99 it would of course have been cheaper to get him by opting for the premium subscription but if you didn't do that (like me) this is still a heck of a lot cheaper than buying the kit from a 3rd party, let alone GW themselves.

Hachette just announced an increase in prices! Looks like I may be cancelling now then...

Dear Customer,
First of all, we would like to thank you for collecting Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Stormbringer. We hope you have as much pleasure collecting it as we are have creating it.
Since the launch of the collection we’ve been committed to bringing you the highest quality products. However, the cost increases that we have been experiencing for months, in particular in raw materials and transport costs, are forcing us to adjust our selling prices.
This was a difficult decision to make, but we have to increase the price for Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Stormbringer to £9.99 (€14.99) from issue 47. The premium subscription continues to cost £2 (€2.50) extra per issue, so will go up to £11.99 (€17.49) from issue 47. This allows us to maintain the best suppliers and upkeep the quality of our products and service.
Of course, you are free to cancel your subscription by contacting the Customer Service Team at any time by giving 28 days’ notice.
We thank you for your understanding and loyalty.
Sincerely,
Hachette Partworks
