Thanks for the advice on blacklining. I've tried it out on a pack of Grey Hunters which I present to you below for comments and critique.

Awesome job. They don't look too wolfish and I think that makes it look great. Nice clean paintjob and great highlights!

Thanks! I'm still quite new to painting so I tried to be as neat as possible. The 2 tone highlights took a little more than an hour per model.

Those models were assembled a few years back when I half-heartedly embarked on the hobby but quickly quit. But I've recently decided to be seriously involved in the hobby and collect an army since I'd already bought some stuff. So I dug out these old models to paint. Hence the lack of wolfish-ness.

These are the steps I took for the armour:

Chaos black undercoat,
Shadow grey basecoat,
Mix of badab black and chaos black to blackline,
First highlight of 3:1 shadow grey-space wolves grey, and
Second highlight of pure space wolves grey.

Great paint work! Sometimes the sharp contrasting edge highlight can be very underrated and your models definately exemplify that. I love the look of the models, reminiscent of 2nd edition Wolves. Nice free hand work and choice of colors.

Thanks for the encouraging words!

Painting the company symbol freehand on the shoulder pads was quite daunting at first, but I think that they're starting to look more like wolf heads with some practice.
