I've seen several people create dakkadakka steam groups, but most contain few members or are dead. I've tried speaking with some and never received a response. I've spoken with an admin to get this stickied so we can have a decent group this time around that will always be easy to find info on.

If you want officer status (I'd prefer we have a few), simply ask. It would be nice to have a decent post count though, or just something that shows you actively participate in this community.

I would be happy to join and assist as needed. Im generally on Steam in evenings playing Bad Company 2, TF2, or something else randomly.

So how is Space Marine? I am debating on picking it up and just have not been convinced. I pretty much do multiplayer only these days. So how is the multiplayer experience?

It's...deep (by means of customization), but there's not much to it (if that makes sense to you). 5 maps, 2 game modes. If multiplayer is your biggy, then I'd wait for a price drop.

I enjoy it, had a few good games teaming up with folks from Dakka and using teamwork. Right now I've put MP on hold until the DLC comes out next month.

Also, one suggestion, make the group private and joinable by invite only. All people need to do is post their steam profiles in this thread and have an admin add them. I've used that method in the past and while it requires a bit more work, it keeps random people from joining so easily and lets us keep an idea of who is who in the group.

Done. The only thing I'm worried about is that I looked into inviting people earlier, and it looked like you had to friend people to invite them to the group. Is that the case?

That is normally how I had to do it, but it may have changed now.

That's fine. I'm wondering though, the whole public vs private group. I don't THINK we'd have a problem with random people showing up. I'm wondering if it's worth it to save the trouble from having to be friends with everyone (lol that sounds terrible).

You should def check out that mod if you haven't yet. It adds an insane amount of content to the game.

Hmm, something to look into. Been part of the Steam sense it's inception and will be for the foreseeable future.

Wow membership made quite a jump recently without me knowing. That's great, now we can start looking getting some events set up.

Also, does anyone play mechwarrior? Mechwarrior 4 became free to play a while back, and it's great fun with a lot of people involved.
