I have noticed that the new Airbursting Fragmentation Projector, (here by known as the AFP) is a range: G18 weapon. . .

I thought they got rid of the guess weapons in the new system, is it supposed to scatter and thats what they meant?

I think they still refer to them as guess weapons, though of course you now no longer guess.
I must say it has taken a bit away from the skill of the game. I think they're trying to make the game more formula like. Less room for tactics and simply take this army and play it this way if you want to win.

Well thank you for the reply, but I would like to voice my disagreement the old guess weapon rules were rather stupid and did not provide any advantage for "skilled" players, and what does tactics have to do with a random weapon. . .

The only way 40K can be construed as a play it this way or lose game, is if you make mistakes in your most efficient tactic versus an opponent. . .

Tactics do actually come into play but quite a bit of this game is still based on luck. . . For instance high armor saves are nothing more than a crutch that make your army more resilient to your mistakes, this is one of the reasons I have recently been playing alot more warmachine than 40k, its a game that provides better for those of us with a better grasp of tactics and takes the 'bucket of dice" mentality out of table top minature gaming. . .

Hah! and double hah! You, sir, have never had the satisfaction of droppping a whirlwind shell a half inch behind the rear armour of a rhino full of troops and annihilating the lot. I, on the other hand, can drop a guess weapon on a nickle anywhere on the table (well not really, but i'm generally good to within in a half inch of target, barring beer goggles or other such impediments). A skill that now, sadly, has no place in 40k.

Cheers

He knows that I know and you know that he actually doesn't know the rules at all.

@ Citadel: high armor saves are nothing more than a crutch that make your army more resilient to your mistakes...

Ironic that YOU, a Marine player, would make a comment like this.

I don't expect a person who can't put a legal army list up to understand tactics in 40K.

Best of luck in your War Machine endeavors.

Flagg, will you simply shut your mouth until you have something of worth to say, the few times I made those mistakes I accepted the statements made by others and explained how I came to my erroneous conclusions. . .

Now for the final time, Stop Bringing It Up!!!. . .
