Moore, Ok.

hello all. what do you all think is the right amount to have? the current 1850 pt. list i'm trying to build has 2 russe,2 chimeras and 1 bassie. i've got 1 improved comms on 1 russ. is it enough? i don't want to go over board. what do other guard players use as a rule of thumb to determine what the right number is? thanks

Unless you do some kind of crazy mech/drop thing where you roll 6+ dice for escalation, one set should be enough. Always put it on either a bassalisk or a LRD. Always.

cheers

I disagree with his assesment. Any Russ should do. If you don't have any Russes, then either a Chimera or Basilisk as your backup.

The point is, you don't want the vehicle to die on the first few turns when the re-roll is useful (after that, who cares?). Any Russ is your best bet of pulling this off.

If you put it on a Chimera you'll probably want to keep it out of LOS when it arrives on the table (meaning you'll lose a turn or two of shooting potentially).

The Basilisk would be a good choice if you can guarantee enough cover to fully hide it behind something. Sadly, that isn't always the case, which means putting it on your Basilisk is a bit of a gamble if you don't know what type of terrain density you'll be playing with.
