Does anyone know if PP is planning on releasing any new books anytime soon? Specifically, I really liked The Malcontents books and the Taryn/Rutger books. I'd like to see more of those, but it doesn't seem like PP is putting any of those out anytime soon.

Not all that is written is on paper bound.

True, but it is hard to do no matter the medium when you don't have writers or editors on staff and there still isn't a 'new' website.

I meant that it would be available in either print or ebook. I don't care which.

So, either you were referring to the physical paper medium of writing, to which my answer applies, or you were referring to any creative writing pursuits, which is a falsity.

Right now, PP is going through a restructuring that caught them by some surprise. They need to figure out how they are going to present any new creative writing in a profitable manner, even in a loss-leader format. If their creative writing is bringing in buyers of models without any purchases of the writing, that is a loss-leader. If they stop presenting creative writing and their purchase rate remains the same or increases, then they will need to find some way to charge for it or stop it all together.

Apparently the print version is no longer working as well as they hoped, so they have to figure out a way to redeploy in a profitable manner. Ebooking is one such manner which allows for a relative high profit threshold so long as it covers the server costs, due to lack of the costs of formatting, supplying paper, and printers to print the hard copy.

I liked their novels but they really need to market them a little differently. Namely, the ones that tell the ongoing narrative need a stronger branding to let people know where the core story lies. They also just put out way too much content. They're not so great that I have any interest in reading more than say, one a quarter.

Still, its one of my favorite fictional settings full stop. There's a lot of interesting stories to tell; PP just needs to figure out the best way to tell them.
