So I just saw I can't download the old FF games I purchased on my iOS anymore, but I CAN buy the new "pixel remasters". I am hesitant though, as I am told these, while "faithful" recreations, are even easier than the "remakes" I had before. I want to re-buy 1-5 again, but am unsure. Are these basically the same, but with pixel graphics and lowered difficulty? I remember 1 on the NES being horribly difficult, and broken in a few areas (Monks, certain spells do nothing). I want to play them again on my phone/tablet when traveling, but am unsure about dropping 100$ on a set of crappier versions. For instance, FF4: 3D Remaster was actually challenging, and had a lot of extra content. Now I am told the Pixel remaster is less difficult than the SNES version, with all the extra content chopped out.

Has anyone tried these? Are they worth the repurchase? The one I most miss being able to play is 5, as I feel like that offered the most fun, grinding out OP combinations. But now I am told the 5 re-master has dropped the ability to create Mastered Combos.

Is there a way to get the old remasters on iOS without jailbreaking my phone?
