Does anyone on here play Northgard? I was gifted it by a friend, and they said it was an amazing version of sim city but in vikings period, so I was hooked. I started playing and was completely lost. I hate it when you get dumped into a sim with 9000 options, a ticking clock, and very little explanation. I'm having a hard time. I built 1 scout, and thought, ok, farmers are needed. So I made everyone a farmer. Now they seem to be out of crops to farm, winter is coming, I need to build soldiers, and I want to quit. Is there a good video or guide that can walk me thru the opening steps, what I need to focus on, and what is purely cosmetic? I made one guy a "smith" or something, and he feels completely worthless. He never does anything.

Thanks in advance!

I was actually in a similar position about a year ago. Northgard throws a lot at you and it’s not clear what does what. If you just search “beginner guide northgard” on YouTube you’ll find a bunch of videos. My recommendation is to play the first 2-3 campaign maps. They teach you the basics of the game and how to win. As far as tips go you need the scout first. 1 or 2 scouts. Then a house so you keep getting guys. Next up is wood and then food. Wood is the most important recourse to establish your economy. Food is needed to expand. After those you need a healer. A healer gathers food in their off time. Remember to have plenty of wood and food when winter hits. You lose wood from keeping vikings warm and food because most food sources don’t work during winter. After that focus on how your clan wins. Like fame with the stag clan, so build skalls. Or trade with the ravens, so build a lighthouse. Or combat with the wolves, so build warriors. Good luck have fun!

His pattern of returning alive after being declared dead occurred often enough during Cain's career that the Munitorum made a special ruling that Ciaphas Cain is to never be considered dead, despite evidence to the contrary.

I totally get the struggle when you're thrown into a complex game like Northgard without much guidance. It can be overwhelming. For some help, you might want to check out guides or videos on how to get started.

When it comes to choosing a clan in Northgard, you can find a list of the top 10 best clan in Northgard. These guides often provide valuable insights on clan strengths, strategies, and how to kickstart your game effectively.
As for your in-game situation, focusing on resource management is crucial. Ensure a steady supply of food and wood for winter, and gradually expand your clan's roles beyond just farmers. Assigning your villagers to various tasks like woodcutting, scouting, and defense can be a game-changer.
