I ordered the Oathmark Orcs off of Amazon. Got a gift card from work... so figured why not. Ordered on 10/21... Amazon said my orcs would come today... but then they cancelled my order this morning saying they did not have it in stock... but then the listing on Amazon still shows in stock and went up $10... :(

Guess I was not meant to have the orcs right now.

Just noticed the Goblin slaves have different head joints than Frost Grave dudes. Their necks stick out, while FG models have holes the heads glue to.

That can be overcome with a knife and some work but I think I'll stick with Cultists to make my Morlocks.

The Undead and Orcs & Goblins have the necks on the bodies for Oathmark minis, Humans and Elves have the necks on the head pieces, Dwarves are something else entirely.

I thought this bump meant the Elf Cavalry was finally in preview - this is decidedly disappointing in comparison lol

I'm not sure how high we should let our expectations soar for the elf cavalry. Very likely to follow same setup as other cavalry kits where the arms and heads are exactly the same as the infantry..

Also a decent chance the horses are ugly mutants like the human cavalry horses.

Oh yeah you're fully right - I was joking more about how odd it seems to put out a metal shield set for teeny little flimsy plastic skeleton arms to hold! I'm already breaking arms just by breathing on them wrong.

I was looking at picking up some oathmark skeletons for skirmish and I already have several of their plastic kits. Are skeletons (without the metal shields) super fragile, then?

Exaggeration for effect, really - I haven't found them to be much more fragile than other skinny skeletons I've worked on (and to be frank, I'd rather fragile skinny skellies than the sturdy tree-trunk-boned monstrosities some manufacturers make). I just might recommend a small spot of proper plastic glue in the joints instead of Tamiya thin cement like I used. I popped arms off a lot while painting because the surface area of the join is pretty tiny. Based on my experience, my visceral reaction to dangling those metal conversion shields off their arms is pure nausea, but as a standalone plastic kit it's my favorite skeleton on the market.

Okay. Awesome. Thanks for the follow up.
I try to avoid mixing materials whenever possible so just the core plastic it will be.

Awesome.
Although they look suspiciously like the old metal GW ones.

At least I have a source to match my old models now.

My Painting Blog: http://gimgamgoo.com/
Currently most played: Silent Death, Xenos Rampant, Mars Code Aurora and Battletech.
I tried dabbling with 40k9/10 again and tried AoS3 - Nice models, naff games, but I'm enjoying HH2 and loving Battletech Classic and Alpha Strike.

A clever thing to do with the skeletons, would be to have the metal shields actually resting on the base and thus supporting the flimsy model

To have the shields actually protect the model IRL would be a novel concept, in my humble oppinion

That's a nice list, I just hope I live to see it

How long ago were Slave Goblins? I've not ever actually seen them in stock at the stores I shop yet, and I've been actively looking.

They were november-ish last year.

I get everything for oathmark direct now, as its difficult to find anywhere else. Costs a fortune in postage but I tend to wait for their buy 5 boxes for 4 deals when a new set comes and they knock the VAT off as well now so its not as bad. The free box softens the blow of the extra postage.

Warlord games stock them and do free EU postage (I think after €100 spend)

Will check out Warlord games. I used to buy from Neverboard in Ireland, but sadly they closed recently.

The objective of the game is to win. The point of the game is to have fun. The two should never be confused.

Ah thats a shame about Neverboard, I wondered why they hadn't been posting up on facebook recently. I only used them occasionally though.

Hobbymad do frostgrave stuff, might be worth dropping them an email to see if they would get in oathmark when they do their next stock up. Good store for paints & things, very quick for getting stuff out quickly.

If ye are not in a hurry with warlord games, place your order in December as they tend to do some good deals during the month. You get points that add up very quickly for money off vouchers, free postage to EU over the spend amount and they tend to chuck in a free sprue and what ever the monthly mini is. I got super lucky and when ordering most of the 2000ad games last December and came away with an entire set of Doctor Who remembrance of the Daleks minis and a lot of 'buy two get one free deals' on the sets due to the holidays!

Of course it has its downsides- I had a lot of points to claim vouchers, which meant I had to place even more orders!

Oathmark Elven calvary pre-order campaign details are up, goes live this Friday 27th October for release in December.

https://www.northstarfigures.com/list.php?man=257&cat=801&page=1

Fantastic models, can't wait to get my hands on them. Love the new shield designs as well. Unless I've missed counted, it does seem like there is only 4 helmet plumes, which is a tad annoying, but I will likely use some of these kits to convert up woodland realms calvary as well, so I'll end up with spares. 6 horse tails though, so its a strange sprue design choice.

I'd been hoping that this pre-order would have had the previous buy 5 boxes for the price of 4 like they've done a few times for past releases, as I'm desperate for a few more boxes of goblin slaves!

Oathmark rules are on discount right now as well.

Small snippet of news. Just "discussions" but it could be mean either a new expansion or race?

Well, looks like the Wargames Atlantic horses box is about to come in handy.

The horses are better than the ones on the human cav, but that is an exceedingly low bar.

I think that the game would benefit from a new rulebook - a cleaned version, with all found errors/inbalances corrected, and Undead faction included there. Expansions should be left for campaigns etc.
