I have a question about who pilots the aircraft in the Unforgiven chapters.
For their unique aircraft, the Nephilim and the Dark Talon, I know that members of the Ravenwing pilot them. And I'm guessing the same is true for the other small aircraft, like Stormhawks and Stormtalons.

But has there ever been mention of the bigger aircraft like Stormravens and Thunderhawks? Would these be Ravenwing as well, or piloted by techmarines as part of the chapters armoury (and painted in the chapters colours instead of Ravenwing Black)?

I'm still a little torn on how to paint my Stormraven, so I'm wondering if there's ever been any info on that.
And yes, I know that in the end I can just go with whatever I want, I'm just still undecided.

I would think all of the flyers except the Nephilim and Dark Talon would be part of the Chapter armoury as normal and crewed by Techmarines, unless they had been permanently seconded to the Ravenwing for some reason.

The Ravenwing probably has a cadre of attached Thunderhawks and other dropcraft that they use to deploy, that have Ravenwing pilots to avoid their mission being leaked. I wouldn't be surprised if the Deathwing has something similar in small numbers, although they prefer teleportation. Other than that, likely to be armoury assets.

Aircraft operated by the Ravenwing are part of the Ravenwing.

Stormravens are going to be a rare sight among the Ravenwing because they aren't needed. A Thunderhawk has the capacity to actually transport the bike units the formation is known for while a Stormraven doesn't. If you have regular Chapter forces or Deathwing units then they'd be the ones to use a Stormraven and have the livery applied appropriately.

So it really comes down to "depends".
The part about Stormravens not making much sense for the Ravenwing is reasonable though, and it would probably also be a waste of Ravenwing pilots if they were to pilot those for other companies.

I guess I'll be painting it in the main colours of my chapters then. Painting something this big all in black sounds pretty daunting to me anyways...

Oh that's cool, thanks for that.

Where is it from? The art looks pretty "classic", but I think it has some units that weren't around back then.
