Hi everyone. We are finally going to start playing crusade and there was this particular question that came up:

Crusade doesn't specify which detachment rules to use, so basically, you could choose another detatchment for every battle.

The requisition "Renown Heroes" lets you choose any enhancement the hero would have access to *within any detachment it has access to*.

So the question is, could your space marine hero get an enchantment form one detachment, while in battle the player can choose a different detachment *which would not usually have access to that enchantment*, and still field that hero?

So far as we understand, thats completely possible! Or did we miss something?

Looks like it’s possible

To me on a first read, you muster an army from units on your Order of Battle, and choose Detachment when you do so. So seems you can flip game by game.

I'm pretty sure this is correct. Seems the intent is not to lock you into a single detachment forever but let you choose which you'd like to use each time you muster an army for a game.

As far as the enhancement goes, yes it does read that you simply choose one enhancement from any detachment that unit is allowed to be a part of when you use the requisition, regardless of whether or not you are using that detachment in a particular game.

As, a tyranid player, this seeme great, as we have a lot of enhancements that weirdly seem to be better used in different detchments than the one that provides them.

Crusade is much more on the fun casual play side of things, so I wouldn't worry about balance issues.

We got 2 space marine players, one tyranid player and another one who will likely play necrons.

SM / Tyranid can all take advantage of that ruling, while the necron player already said he doesnt care at all (its that kind of player who would rather not take a relic just to field 2 more warriors).

Anyways, thanks for your answers
