Hey folks,
I just launched a new fantasy skirmish game -
Legend of Mythra! The rulebook contains the core rules, army lists, a mini-campaign and lore for the Mythra setting.
The game engine is designed with ergonomics in mind - no unnecessary dice rolls or re-rolls. One hour games are easily possibly once you get the core rules down. Magick lores and special rules are kept to a single page each. There is a fairly detailed armoury which is grounded in 'realism' - spears and halberds are king of the battlefield, full plate grants a 2+ save, archery can devastate lightly armoured troops and of course great weapons are
not last strike! (see any greatsword tutorial video
lol).
Gameplay uses an 'initiative' system - players share a turn, with one player activating first in each phase. The opponent can seize the initiative if they score more objective points. But going first in a turn can have it's drawbacks - it all depends on the context of the battle.
All units in the game are made using a mathematical formula, so it is fairly well balanced. But
Legend of Mythra was made with narrative players in mind more than competitive play. The main inspiration for the setting comes from the Finnic and Baltic region, so jump in if you want to try something new.
