Title says it all.

I guess that would be the ultimate hobbyist, I was wondering if anyone has ever done it.

Not that I'm aware of, but I suspect Matt Birdoff could if he tried (and he's a member of the very exclusive - two member - club of fantasy and 40k GT winners). He might not get a gold, but I think he'd get his name called.

I am not sure it has ever happended. Like Ed, I know a few people who 'could' do it but I am not sure it has happended yet.

The world is quiet here.

I haven't done it yet, but I'm getting closer all the time.

3rd place 40k finish.
3rd place Fantasy finish.
Passed the first cut of two Golden Demons.

I'll get there, someday...just you wait...

And ain't that what it's all about? Always trying to improve your models, your armies, and your ability to kick your opponents tail.

I smell a challenge!

I've never even considered entering a golden daemon. But perhaps if I invade one of the smaller Games Days......

Even then, chances are bulimic.

I don't think it'll happen, but as ed said, the Birdhoff has the best chance.

Richard Dagger won the 2002 New Zealand GT (60 entrants) and won a Silver for single 40k miniature in the 2004 Australasian Golden Daemons.

He used Deathwing at the GT and the mini was a SM Chaplain.

He has a Witch Hunters Army Showcase coming up in next month's Asia-Pacific White Dwarf.

Atlanta seemed pretty small to me.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake;
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

I believe Mike Butcher achieved this feat, 40k overall in '00, and a GD in '05.

Well, no one won Overall at a GT AND the Golden Demon Slayer Sword, that i know of... at least not ever in the five years i worked in the U.S. Studio.

My bet for this feat would be Dave Pauwels. He used to play in GTs all the time, back when i was photographing them a few years ago. And his painting is PHENOMENAL.
