@Pacific, I'm pretty interested myself I'll let you know here when I get them, and the pictures will find their way onto my dakka P&M blog once I've got some fixed up. May take a bit yet, the order status still read "in production" so I'm guessing that I'm in some kind of queue for the laser cutter.

Today was spent watching the final hours of MA kickstarter, a pretty good finish, and so many more toys coming my way

The rest of the day was devoted to prepping for and playing Deadzone with a buddy. With the baby interrupting and us being n00bs at the rules (and having to walk a few feet to my computer to check up on some rules...) it took a couple of hours to play. I'm sure actual games are going to fall well under an hour, but it was a pretty fun experience.

Today i'm drilling out bolter and assault cannon barrels. 92 of them to be exact. God fething help me.

If, by the grace of god, i manage to finish that and still have some hobby time left this evening, i'll be checking on a batch of minis merrily bathing in some purple power, and if i still have some time after that, probably finish up some basing of some Dark Angels.

May the emperor keep your bit straight.

I get upset after doing like 10 barrels, can't imagine 92 at one go.

I painted Reaper's Blightfang - with an audience.

I sometimes paint at Burger King, and the folks that have commissioned the minis often come in to watch it happen.

Two of the managers at Burger King are now among my customers....

My girlfriend wants me to start doing charcoal sketches in the park - she thinks that my sketching will improve, and that I will sell my first sketch before leaving the park.

That I have a magical ability to have people pop out of nowhere and buy stuff of of me....

The Auld Grump, she was there when the managers commissioned the figures.... She's an artist, I'm not.

Kilkrazy wrote:When I was a young boy all my wargames were narratively based because I played with my toy soldiers and vehicles without the use of any rules.

The reason I bought rules and became a real wargamer was because I wanted a properly thought out structure to govern the action instead of just making things up as I went along.

If I manage to move after work hours and gym and a bit of study, most likely continue painting the FW SW Venerable Dread: Why, oh why, the banner has so many bone colored stuff, it's yet another color from hell!

Yellow, white and bone, these colors are just, uuuuurrrgh.

Thanks man !

I think he was with me... bit only slipped on 2 barrels, one right at the start, so you can't even tell. The other did happen to get messed up, but ya know what.... only having to re-do one more bolter out of 92, i'll take it.

The assault cannon barrels were especially nerve wracking, as i didn't have any spares for those lying around !

... glad that's done !

Do it! My problem isn't that I am terrible at updating, it is that I barely work on models so I have nothing to update!

Well last night I got all my rhino chassis but one glued together (holy feth those kits suck). The one that I have left still needs some painting done to it before I can assemble it.

I also started working on getting all the options magnetized for the razorbacks and predators. If I keep this pace up, everything should be in primer by the end of the week, may even have some paint on them. Tonight my goal is to finish the turrets on the razorbacks.

I mean... Is it worth it to post two pictures to start off a P&M blog?

Some people start P&M blogs with no pictures, so I think you're fine.

Yeah, some blogs start with just an introduction and planing or sometimes pictures of boxes. Nothing wrong with some painted models as a start

I am planning on painting some of the older metal Ogryn models that I've stripped and rebuilt. One down, and six more to go. They aren't exactly that useful in today's edition, but darn it, I like the models. Harks back to when I first got in the hobby. Certainly helps break up the monotony of painting a bazillion Guardsmen. And it gives me an excuse to try my hand at Green Stuff and silly conversions.

Based and sprayed the chaos cultists I bought like a year ago! Trying out the "pre shading" method of using white and black sprays to make a gradient on the model, and then going to paint mostly with washes. Looking forward to it! Already have some daemons ready to go.

Better than my problem, which is trying to get people to comment on a historical-game blog! Seriously considering renaming my FoW army blog as "BLUE ULTRAMARINES 40K MATT WARD DRAIGO DEATHSTAR" just to get some fething comments on the damned thing

My biggest problem with commenting on threads is that I immediately lose interest in a thread if it's photos aren't hosted on Dakka. It's a weird distinction for sure, but when people use imgur, flickr, photobucket, etc... I can't see them, but Dakka's gallery is fair game since Dakka itself isn't work blocked, so if your stuff isn't hosted on Dakka, then I ain't interested

Have you got a link to your thread anywhere Pacific? I like historical blogs (though WW2 isn't my favourite period) and would take a look! It's a shame fantasy and historicals get less attention on the board though. It's hard to build up a community around it when all the blogs are so heavily 40K biased.

And 6 Warriors.

And 80 gaunts.

30% completion is a lot better than "a big pile of plastic and pewter" They look good, dunno about specifics on which to comment (like, well they really look like mid-war germans, and your camo pattern is off by 15 degrees ), but they look pretty cool

How much does an army like that run, if I may ask? I think there's a guy in town who does historicals and I might have to make a switch in gears if I want to have any wargaming opponents.

Flames of War? It's decently cheap since no one can get protected works on WWII in the same way that GW can with Fantasy and 40k. The Open Fire starter is a pretty solid buy for 70 bucks, comes with 2 armies (Germans and Brits) that are close to 1000 points (I think it's closer to 750), some cheap cardboard terrain, and the rules. From there you can buy Plastic Soldier Company kits to save on some money, and have 2 decent armies for like 250 bucks total?
