I had a game of X-Wing yesterday using a formation I learned from watching a youtube video of the world championship tournament earlier that day helped loads.- The TIE Fighters used a particular formation that I copied with my X-Wings and ended up massively saving the day for me.

I seriously love just how clever this game actually is.

Played a game of Pike & shot today, myself and another player whom also fields the soldeiers of Carl Gustav of Sweden, faced of against the lapdogs of the Pope aka Catolics. It was to put it midly a bloody game, when the dust and smoke cleared it ended with a draw as both sides had exausted their troops on the biting cold fields.
but it was a great game and my fellow players where great to kill of some hours with. Looking forwards to the next game already

Yeah a lot of subtlety was implanted into that game, but it still works pretty well if you wanna scoot little space ships around and chuck dice. Seems like it works pretty well on both levels.

I shall have to endeavor to find some local-ish opponents, add that to the list of things to do in 2015 lol. Maybe even run some demos at the local shop on boardgame night to see if I can get any converts

Well I finished that shirt, primed those models, and got one of them painted. I've got another set to be finished pretty soon, and while that one has been drying I've gotten a third pretty close to done as well.

I think I'm going to make one of those 'get 365 models done in a year' things this year. Maybe not 365.. we'll see. Maybe. One and two pretty far along isn't bad for the first day at least.

Those Scion Command Squad look fantastic, really love the green and brass colour scheme. Also are those the default
heads or did you replace them?

Oh and hobby-wise for me, eh sculpting stuff as usual and cutting apart Mantic ogres in a vain attempt to convert them
into better poses.

And I painted my first ever mini, at Mantic ogre, I'll try and get a pic up.

Realised I had the whole White Council as-yet unpainted, so now Galadriel and Elrond are primed and Saruman is half way done. As for Gandalf, I already have 2 done, so don't need another. They're Fellowship-era sculpts, but will be getting BotFA colour schemes.

In between marking a giant stack of tests, I have assembled 24 corsairs of umbar.

Man, I really love how easy it is to assemble the LOTR monopose. Maybe I'm weird, but I just love the monopose figures. Assembly is my least favourite part of the entire hobby, so I really appreciate having good looking plastic monopose with some variety.

^Interesting! Assembling varied and multipart hard plastic kits is one of my favorite things about the hobby. Always neat to see what different people get out of it though

I'm currently compiling my ToDoOrDie Version 2015 list. I made one back when I started my painting blog and it helped keep me motivated so I'm bringing it back. In style this time, I've declared an absurd goal of 365 minis by the end of the year! The list will be set up in blocks and I'm leaving myself free to swap things out as interest peaks or wanes, or if I get new stuff or find stuff I had forgotten. Lordy I think I'm in over my head on this one!
