The Rebel heroes had successfully cleaved through the Imperial forces but... At such a cost... The destroyer of the Death Star, the last best hope for the Rebellion, Luke Skywalker, was battered, bloodied and beaten, clinging onto life.
None the less, he made a mad dash onwards, if only he could unlock the garage and reach the shuttle...
The mission would be achieved! The Imperial forces had been defeated after all. There was nothing stopping him...
Unlocking the door... The Garage opened...
Spoiler:
To reveal none other than The Dark Lord himself.
There was nothing any of them could do... Vader had been waiting just for this opportunity. He calmly stalked out of the garage, the heroes frozen in fear. The Dark Lords hand raised, Luke could feel his throat tightening...
Then... nothing...
The Galactic Empire had won this day.

Finished 7 of 8 Etoiles Mortant (from the old metal Warzone line). Just need to base the done ones.
The 8th model has a separate forearm with pistol that's not working with me to stay glued and I'm not in a mood to pin her. Squad composition for these girls is looking like it'll be 7 instead of 8 unless I feel extra patient in the next little while.

Spent the evening playing Rogue Trader RPG with some friends and mugs of tea. For once it didn't end with another PC doing unspeakably evil things to my poor character, which is why I like my Friday gaming friends the best.
Spent the afternoon basing Mordians, and wondering where the point of no return on assembled vs painted ratio is.
Still painting the same damned unit of skitarii vanguard.
5 down, 5 to go...

I think I did something very, very wrong when I first used it.
The current status is there's now air escape through the top of the brush (probably through the nozzle seal, even though it seems good to me...), and the best case scenario I got out of the front of it was bubbles of paint.
It's an Iwata airbrush, with Vallejo model air paint. So whatever is going on, I'm pretty sure I'm responsible for it...

Airbrushes are terribly finicky tools. I think they can be considered robust when you're really competent at maintenance, but they're super easy to mess up.
Might be some maintenance videos on youtube that could help, I just get by with my sotar so I don't feel up to giving much in the way of advice myself.

Painting up Chaos Cultists for the Assassin game (and for my Iron Warriors). There are 15 in the game, and I have 35 others. Currently 8 down 42 to go.

Researching Star Blazers miniatures, looking for Robotech RPG Tactics events, and working on a Raven Guard battle company. (Captain shown below. From the Space Marine Commander box: torso, cloak, right arm, right hand with combi-plasma, right shoulder pad, lightning claw and iron halo. From the Tactical Squad box: legs, left shoulder pad, helmet and backpack.)
Picked up a Laspack container of objective markers to go in the front of my battered old Signal Officer's Satchel.
Found out ti doesn't actually fit in there, despite being marketed as such. What the eff, GW.

My condolences.
They are gorgeous models, but fuiddly to paint and build.
I'd recommend painting/building in subassemblies. Body and head, Legs and arms.
I have 7 of my 10 Vanguard done so far, but then i'm a really slow painter

Next up are either FoW Russian great coats as Independents for Serenity/Firefly in 15mm or building the remaining 20 Eisenkern stormtroopers to add to the first sqd of 10 I built/painted last week.

Not to derail but have you played the game itself yet?
Curious how the actual gameplay stands up.

I think I'll get around to them soonish, probably enter them into Paradigm's painting comp since the skiffs make them fast, and that's the theme this month.

Able to see well enough to paint for the first time in a week or so, I'm shamefully ignoring my challenge entry to work on some High Elves. It occurred to me that it was 5 years ago this month I bought my first ever WFB/40k minis, and while I have no intention of rebuilding the HE army, it's at least time to paint some of my favourite character minis from the army up to a display standard.
With that in mind, I'll probably be experimenting with a lot of stuff outside my comfort zone, like NMM and generally brighter schemes, to make them a true homage to the imagery and art that brought me into non-LotR gaming 5 years (and a scary amount of money) ago.

I just spent half to an hour out in the garage taking photos of my minis as GCPS marines, on a routine shakedown/improper license check, walk into a brutal slaughter when Dr. Simmonds launches a zombie-packed assault on the facility in order to free the captive stage 1 the Greys (who run the facility) had been studying. This situation may even be too hot for Helga, the tough and brutal merc hired on by the marines.
There are photos.. but they need edited and arranged.

The first elf is done, a White Lion, so pics are on the way!
Had a bit of a rummage to see what else I could do with these elves, and now have most out my ideas planned (at least to some degree)
- A Prince, Mage and Ellyrion Reaver Champion as mounted individual minis
- A small diorama of the White Lion fighting alongside a Swordmaster of Hoeth, possibly defending a banner
- possibly a dio of some Spearmen holding position against Skaven hordes, with archers in the second rank and plenty of gore
- possibly a dio of a Griffon prince ploughing through Skaven ranks while their Warlord attacks (not sure if I'll make it this far, but it looks awesome in my head! )

My brother asked me to paint some Khador and ork storm boyz models for him. I said sure.. Dropped off about 100 storm boyz and about 50 pts of Khador. Did not think it was going to be this many models

Ouch! That's quite a bit of painting. Hope you have some podcasts or shows to listen to whilst you churn them out!
Today I see up a makeshift shelving system on my desk for my models and paints. I didn't want to put any holes in my one of my parents' rooms whilst my wife and I are living here so this was the solution I came up with. Works pretty well, and now I'm off to painting with my new Army Painter set!
Something of an NMM elf-athon happened. Since finishing the White Lion, I went straight on to the Swordmaster, and somehow ended up doing the Prince too (and forgot to take an unpainted shot, so can't enter him in the challenge like I had considered doing! And I think he'd have been a much better choice than my DCA. Still, his Griffon-riding cousin may yet get done for that).
Also converted a dismounted Ellyrion Reaver, so the dio now has Chrace, Hoeth and Ellyrion represented. I'd see about adding representation for Nagathraye and Lothern as well, but I've only got limited base space.

Building some Soviet infantry from the Siberian Veterans box. A neat kit but man are the metal guns/arms a pain to fit onto the model.

Worked on my Thunderbolt some more. Now I'm busy looking at new models for an Admech list I want to paint up. I only play friendly games so I am going to build some wheeled Taurox and some Leman Russes to go with a pile of Vanguard.
