Modified my Walking Dead All Out War core box to hold all the expansions I own as well. Which means I now have a solid reason not to buy any more as they won't fit.

Went down to the inaugural meeting of our local boardgaming group in a nearby coffee shop. Played Elfenland and a couple of games of Pandemic. Missed out on Colditz, Tsuro and Labyrinth. Pretty good showing for a rainy sunday

I've been painting 1:300 scale WWII aircraft, RAF and Luftwaffe. I'm a few planes short of finished but when I'm done I'm thinking of taking a bunch of pictures and making an album to show them off.

Its been a really rewarding project so far and of course I'm considering adding a couple more planes to each airforce and probably starting a small USAF collection too. Beause a P-38 lightning is just a beautiful machine.

Going down another prototype tank rabbit hole...

Whilst working on my Alternative History Germans, I was looking into American use of Amphibious LVTs (I'm making a German one based on the Panther chassis at the moment). That led me onto the Pacific theatre. Japan oddly enough had designed a whole wave of armoured vehicles for the defence of the home islands which surpassed what had came before.

I'm currently eyeing up a Type 5 Chi-Ri Medium Tank. In short it was the Japanese Panther (in terms of other stuff like say the Hungarian TAS 44M), aimed at out performing the American's Sherman. Problem is ...its based on another Prototype Tank from earlier in the war, the Type 4 Chi-To. Luckily, that was made from a lengthened Type 97 Kai Shinito (thus the rabbit hole).

So... I guess I'll pick up a Type 97 Kai Shinito and steal the track units from it. Then make some new road wheels and tracks to lengthen those, and create the rest of the tank from plasticard. Oh, and the gun too considering that was also a prototype 105mm which never saw any major production (seeing a theme here?).

Meanwhile I have a load of other stuff unfinished, and a German force with more armoured vehicles than complete squads (I've literally just been playing Tank games with them). But... well... this thing looks cool, so meh.

Putting the finishing touches on my Imperial Space Marine, and still assembling stuff for my Battle Company. I spent the earlier part of the day doing RL stuff (including seeing Logan at the theater- great movie!), but this evening will be spent on hobbying.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

Mourning the destruction of my WIP Black Legion Daemon Prince.

Sadly crushed by a small child (the child happily is still fully assembled with all pieces accounted for, unlike mr DP, who is missing a horn, some fingers and other assorted pieces).

It has taken me some days to take this model and look at it again, as I've been slowly painting him for months due to limited hobby time. Having him destroyed before he was even completed, let alone seen on the field of battle was upsetting to say the least.

I'm trying to take a silver lining approach, and use the damage as an excuse to go back and redo elements of the model I didn't like, or incorporate new ideas.

I'm thinking of remodelling the claw to have more blade like fingers, akin to the Talon of Horus, possibly with a combi bolter mounting. Where the horns were may be turned into ears, or filed down, as I am considering adding a lavish top knot to reinforce the black legion look. Horns are so passé.

And yes, he has arms for legs. This was a stretch DP, the second I manage to squeeze out of the official kit!

My Juggernaut, Psylocke and Archangel models from Heroclix came in; I've found heroclix sculpts (of newer models) to be decent, it's the paint jobs that usually suck ass (Archangel is good though; just no shading, but colors are great. Very happy with him, as is). So I'm repainting them. Psylocke and Juggie have rules for KM Marvel that are considered "finished", and Archy is easily subbed with Falcon rules. So doing them all up. Need a second Archangel for X-Force costume. Got my second Psylocke already.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Juggernaut needs a wash, and I did an eBay purchase order for 8 other Heroclix models to use in the KM Marvel/DC game. 'Clix models are decently sculpted, but lord the paintjobs are terrible!! The ones that aren't bad have no shade, no detail, just flat color. Time to fix that all up and have a Marvel X crew to be proud of.

These are both Heroclix models, btw.

Did the long drive to the nearest GW store to pick up some an order, didn't plan on buying anything else but the store had some of the gryph cavalry unboxed and undercoated. The mount models looked fantastic and before you could say "limited impulse control" I'd ordered up a couple of boxes plus the hero.

No intention at all of starting a Stormcast force, but these boxes mean my AM killteam just gained some fierce looking roughriders.

Finished Archangel. Using a Heroclix model, I'll be using Falcon's leaked data sheet from Knight Models to play him on an X-Men team.

Been putting the models from the Triumvirate of the Primarch set together. All that detail is pretty daunting, I must say, but it'll be a fun challenge to paint.

Yea, I also opened up my carry case and the foam has pulled one of Abaddon's Trophy wrack spikes off. Not sure whether to blame me, the foam or fine cast on that one.

Hopefully I have some white metal spikes from an old kit I might be able to replace it with.

Making a Japanese WWII Ho-Ru Tank Destroyer out of a Walord Ha-Go. Having only really made German tanks to this point, the size of the Japanese stuff is insane. They were prototyping this thing in 1945, but the thing is smaller than a Panzer I ...expecting it to go take out Shermans with a 47mm gun (for comparison the Germans by 45 had set a 75mm as their minimum size, with 88s being shoved on most of their prototypes, and 105s on the cutting edge stuff ...let alone mentioning the Soviet stuff, which admittedly couldn't kit the side of a barn).

An interesting wee Tank, for a war that never came, after Operation Downfall/ Olympic was cancelled (luckily ...damn luckily). I'll be painting it up for the defence of the Home Islands, so that'll take me away from all the snow I cake my German stuff with.
