According to Prodos (on facebook) you can't have the alternative marines because they haven't been made yet, Are you sure you mean alternatives - ie the multi-part poseable ones, and not the additional set that matches the ones that come in the boxed game?

I'll check tonight. I ordered a set of the alternative marines, not the duplicate ones from the game. I assumed because I've a pack of marines in the extra's box, they were in fact the alternative ones. I've not been through it properly as yet. I'll post some pic's up.

As for the boards, I've looked again and found the Acid Spit Template. The boards are double sided. I've a friend who ordered a copy at retail, but he's unsure if he got the retail or KS version! All the card stock seems to be the same thickness.

Thinking about it I ordered some alternative marines as well, but got copies of the original guys.

So it might well be a cock-up..

After a check, I can confirm that I don't have the alternative marines.

You should get the new version of the ks. I got mine about a month ago and thats what I had. You can tell easily if it has the flamer/acid template in it. Good luck!

Yeah, when I opened mine up I saw the rubber bands on the decks of cards and thought I'd got retail, but then I had a gakload of tiles and the template set so I actually did get the KS version.

In other news, got my rulebook in the mail today, so I can hopefully play this weekend!

Congrats on getting the rule book (finally)! Now you too can join in the fun of trying to use it! I painted all of my minis first, then cracked open the rule book, I hadn't even gotten past the index page before finding an error. I'm beginning to think that they only get things right by accident....

It's been ok so far. I have "v1.2", maybe that's newer?

Thats the same one that I have. I was probably being overly critical, but I found numerous gramatical errors, incorrect page #'s in the index and several contradictory rules in my first read through. I may have been extra harsh on it due to ks bs...

So I compared my KS copy I finally recieved, with the copy my friend bought from retail last autumn. They are identical in every way. Both have identical components, the only difference was my cards were wrapped in rubber bands, his came in white boxes. Both of us has the flamer templates.

So I'm guessing we've both got KS copies?

Correct. They have sold KS copies at retail.

Yeah, the initial retail release was the KS release. It was mighty nice of Prodos to get the retailers the exclusive KS version of the game while us backers waited, and waited, and in some case are still waiting.

So I was looking at the rulebook and came across a lovely painted Predator Berserker photograph. The caption states that it is not included in the board game and is available seperately.

I thought it was KS exclusive?

The Berserker sculpt was supposed to be KS exclusive, but Prodos did indicate they may release the 'character' with a different sculpt.

Of course, it would surprise me to find out Prodos went back on a promise.

I'm not saying you should believe them, but it is what they've said.

Maybe they originally planned to release a different sculpt, thus making its inclusion in the rulebook logical, but Fox have decided it's non-canon and won't let them?

Got mine, Picked my stuff up yesterday from the UPS pickup point.

The predator and Alien minis are stunning, and when you get them they do make the wait slightly more tolerable in hindsight

the marines are really good sculpts and casts but their too big ( about 34/35mm tall on average)to go with the rest of my collection so that takes the shine off them.

Missing the arm from one of the preds and the head on the power loader is miscast, otherwise the rest of the minis ( that are approved) seem all there.

How do I tell if I have the retail o KS version of the game again?

So even with an extra day in February and still nothing received.

I have actually given up hope tbh.

Pledge still on 'awaiting' my details are correct and tbh, once it arrives it may go unopened onto eBay for £100 just to get it out of my life

Has the queen model been released? I had discarded my broken metal version from the 90's in the hopes of picking one up from this KS. I'm more than a bit nervous to order it out of the store as well, if available.

The Queen has been out for a while now. Most of the online game stores show stock, this will require less intestinal fortitude...

Anybody managed to get any sense out of prodos recently by email?

I'm still waiting on a large part of my pledge - and have tried emailing them to ask about it, but I'm getting delivery failures on every Prodos address I try :(

Nope haven't had a single reply to any email ive sent in the last 2yrs . Im checking out uk distance selling regulations atm to see if they cover pre-orders so i can get a refund if anything ever turns up .
