The trench skids don't seem to be a standard design - the Malcador and Russ versions are quite different. But looking at the Russ sprues, I can certainly see how they could use the existing hull / track sprue, if they didn't want to replicate the chunkier track design on the LI Russ (which looks much better, IMO).

Wouldn't overthink that too much. Saw a number of other posts on facebook and/or reddit of people complaining that they had orders canceled or items cut earlier this morning. IIRC one person had their order for the recently released traitor consul/champion canceled as out of stock 3 weeks after they placed the order. The other had a Kratos cut for their GW webstore order as being out of stock a month after placing it. Seems more like GWs ERP system is still busted and they dont have accurate inventory counts of anything.

A lot of people had a lot of different orders cancelled today - supposedly it is another ERP inventory management issue that is causing problems for anything on backorder, so GW are just cancelling them and telling people to reorder when they're in stock. Except we can't really know when that is, as apparently the website stock status is also broken.

All going smoothly behind the scenes...

GW was paying for two major website platforms at the same time, the old site that was working but expensive and the new site that wasn't working but was also expensive.

The new site wasn't done, but eventually the decision had to be made to just have it go live and fix things on the back end as they came up so they could stop paying for 2 sites at once.

We're now in that weird growing-pain phase. Finally, we're past the holidays, so the IT team should be working full time now to tackle and fix all the issues.

Knowing IT and web development, my speculation is that the team that GW hired totally fleeced GW and is taking full advantage of the situation to continue getting paid while under-delivering, but hey, happens all the time unfortunately.

Easily missed from this week’s Heresy Thursday was a teaser for next week’s (18 Jan)

Given the LVO reveals will be the same day? I’m thinking upgrade Sprues for Assault Marines.

Maybe, just maybe, Breachers for MkIII.

It's the melee weapon upgrade sprue that was listed on the roadmap.

Spoiler:

Would be weird given that we still don't have the "Mystery Army" Release...

It doesn't say that it's a reveal for the Heresy Thursday thing. Maybe they do a rando-reveal of whatever the baby Sentinel thing was? Or maybe it's something for Tiny Heresy.

Doubtful. It'll be the old FW sprues but plastic. So all the options for Power Weapons, Power Fists/Lightning Claws, Melta Bombs, and the various Pistols.

My guy, how can you not understand that the quotation marks are for "air quotes"?

If they're following the roadmap, that upgrade sprue isn't for another quarter. Solar Auxilia have been the worst kept secret since the return of the Lion.

Same, most likely. I've owned a Malcador Defender from day 1, and it's one of my favorite old FW designs.

Given they're on the resin row of the graphic, I think you've got the material down pat - not sure if the upgrades would just be weapons, though, or whether we're dealing with more helmets and pads.

Winter is December - February. It makes sense when you realize GW's fiscal calendar is June - May. This would be Q3. Their fiscal calendar is the same as my employers' - the first day of the new year is Memorial Day. GW has a 52/53 week fiscal calendar?

Small new Valrak rumours about Solar Auxilia
Its from a LVO predictions video in which he just throws all that out in passing but he said he "heard" this so should be actual rumours and not just speculation:

Boxset has Command Squad, Troops, Dracosan, Leman Russ, Sentinel
In addition to the boxset there are plastic Malcadors and plastic Artillery (Medusa) and "more"

Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"

Well, let's have a look-see at the online shop

Lasrifle Section, Veletaris Storm Section, Tactical Command, Dracosan = have been entirely removed

Basilisk/Medusa, Malcador Annihilator = Sold Out Online (good indicator that an item is discontinued but not entirely fool proof)

I don't know how many HH specific Russes there were, only the Incinerator is listed at all now.

Goddamn! That would be more SA releases than we have for LI at this stage. But it all sounds super juicy, so bring it!

In hindsight, getting SA as the second plastic faction for HH2.0 makes a ton of sense, since that establishes "parity" with LI, and you can cross pollinate into 40K better. Just hope Mechanicum will follow some time after, I still want those plastic Automata for my IXth

I'd argue Mechanicum would have been a more exciting second faction in both HH and LI. But I guess we need a human baseline for Astartes to stand out against

Mechanicum are more aesthetically polarizing, you either love em or you hate em. SA are more approachable for the average customer and tons of folks love the baseline humans with basic sci-fi weapons look. I can imagine that they also probably had enough sales data from the resin era to determine that SA probably sell better than Mechanicum (just a guess, not positive).

I would guess that SA are their first foray into non-marine plastics for 30k and they are looking to gauge the interest and demand of non-marine plastics through a relatively safe avenue. If it sells well im sure other factions wont be far behind.

They might also be holding off on the Mechanicum to tie it to an AdMech thing. One of the big holes right now is that the two Skitarii variants are kind of specialized...doing a third variant that's techguard in all but name could be a thought

SA also can be easily used as Guard models in 40K, while Heresy era Mechanicus doesn't really have much overlap with the 40K version model wise. so doing SA first means that they can catch twice the buyers, as even non heresy players might still pick up the SA plastics.

Won't be far behind is over year if sales are deciding.

Though likely is even if already in plans.
