Loyalist or 'Tratior' which one do you think was duped the most? Either in turning to Chaos or in being killed or what not?

My vote would either be for Magnus the Red or Perturabo.

Magnus tired to warn the Emperor only to be branded as a Traitor and hunted down. [Sure Horus helped with winding up The Wolf but the Emperor still called him a liar. It's nice to be called a liar - espcially by your Da when you're trying to save him.]

Perturabo seemed to be marginalized by everyone else - only allowed to perform seige warfare and nothing else. Getting type cast in it while the Imperial Fists were allowed to fight at the spearhead of everything. [Both were considered Siege specialists but the Fists were allowed to have fun.]

What are your thoughts? [By the way, The Iron Warriors beat the Fists in seige in my opinion. Just look at their 'final' confrontation after the civil war]

I would say Magnus was the most "punked." Although I doubt Ashton Kutcher had anything to do with either of the primarchs.

Horus was the most punked primarch. Lied to, used, turned against his father falsely, driven to kill his closest friend and brother, played as a chess piece against the Emperor then cast aside when he failed... It's like a massive "You're On Candid Camera!", except there was no laughing at the end, unless you count the Chaos Gods laughing at the tragedy they forged out of infinite potential.

That's my thought, anyway.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

Not Punk'd! I don't think they show that in Ireland - least I haven't been able to find it. Not a huge MTV watcher anyway - other then 'Dirty Sanchez.'

Either way, I never really thought Horus got the short end of the stick - I always assumed he went to the 'Darkside' willingly - consumed by his own Pride and Jellously... Hmmm.

He still assumes he can lead the empire better then the emperor right?

You're thinking of Abaddon, Celtic Strike. While rumored to be a clone of Horus, he's a different ball of angst. Their personas diverged significantly.

No, I meant that hours Still assumed that he could rule the Empire better then the emperor. [I used he because I was referring to the time period in the book - where he is still alive as the herasy had just started.]

I know what happened to him - I've been playing for 11 years. I know he was taken by the sons of horus and enthroned on a deamon world. He was stolen and almost cloned by bile but Abaddon swooped in with his fleet and destroyed his body.

The only reason that Horus thought that, at any point, was that Erebus showed him a skewed future without explaining how it came to be, truthfully. Thus, his belief was based on a lie.

Never read the books but the old fluff always paints him as someone who was consumed by Arrogence and self-importance. [Which, to be fair - If I was the greatest of all the Primarchs I probably would be consumed with too.] The book seems to paint him differently so I have to say that yes. If what you say was true then he really was punked.

Though I think we can all feel bad for Magnus - even if you do vote for Horus

Dissed, banished, and mutated, not to mention being the *female dog* of the most untrustworthy Chaos god and getting outmaneuvered by a subordinate (Ahriman)... Boy, Magnus' face must be red...

Actually, I assumed Horus was blasted to atoms by the black legion's fleet after Abbadon took control of the Luna wolves

What about Konrad Kurze? Start out as a primarch, develop an inferiority complex, end up with no lips or eyelids living in a castle made of still-screaming victims...how can you get a good night's sleep with no eyelids and a bedroom made of six dozen moaning wretches? They even let an Imperial assassin get to him, I bet his own legion showed that dude the front door. "Nail the big guy and we can finally start building things out of wood and brick again. Every time I sit down in my jacuzzi I'm getting bitten on the inner thigh. Please, just kill him. Take my lightning claw, you don't even have to bring it back, just end this crapfest of a daemon world!"

Nah, he just sucked. Obviously, his gestation tank was left too close to the Emperor's emo-music-as-weapon-of-mass-depression program, and it warped his mind from "birth".

There's emo for no reason - Night Haunter.

And then there's emo because you can see the future and know that it all really is pointless...

No, he got beat down by his situation growing up. He's essentially Batman gone goth.

The only thing he foresaw was his own assassination, and that was most likely just shrewd extrapolation of Imperial policy.

I think they both believed what they were doing was right - remember Loyalists tend to have of have a Chaos Legion with a similar trait and I think The Night Haunter and Sang were their own ying and yang.

Sang knew that he would die defending the Emperor and help in Horus' defeat. Where as the Night Haunter knew that he would die justifying his betrayal of his father. If one's Emo [I don't understand the phrase] then they are both equally emo. Too bad they never came to direct blows. [If they did, point me to that fluff as it would be awsome to read... probably.]

The Cockatrice Malediction

From the Night Lords Index Astartes:

One of the better known facts about Konrad Curze was that he was cursed with visions of horrifying potency throughout his life. Rather than seeing the myriad possibilities the future could hold, as the sorcerous Eldar claim they are able to, the visions he would experience were inevitably dark and troubled, the blackest paths the future could take unwinding before him. Among the most debated writings of Curze's history are the revelations contained in volume two of 'The Dark'.

"At times, in raptures of pain, I saw what was to occur laid out before me. In these waking dreams I took countless lives with my bare hands, heads taken as trophies. I died again and again at the hands of my father. My sons butchered and maimed their brothers. My name was to become synonymous with dread. But most vividly and with most frequency, I saw my world pierced by a lance of purest light, splitting it, shattering it into dust."
