So back in high-school (about 7 years ago) I wrote up some rules for a game I had in my head and the game turned out to be great fun, but it was forgotten and lost over time. Recently I stumbled across it and brought it out to play with some friends and had a blast again. So I've decided that it really is time for some decent artwork to be done to go with the rules, so that I can make a decent version of the game that I will take more pride in and actually be able to show people when they come over. Instead of the "hideously ugly blue and white scraps of paper with hand writting scrawled across each card" mess that it is now.
Anyone out there have an up coming art project/assignment that they have to do for some reason(or just want to do for fun) that they might want some ideas and general direction for so that you can get it complete and at the same time help out a fellow dakka member?
Basically I need some character art done for walking contraptions along the line of Goblin Shredders from Warcraft 3 / WoW or a crazy walker-like-contraption that you would expect see built by orcs/goblins in the warhammer and
40k universes. I'll provide a more in-depth description of what I am looking for to any interested parties.
I'm open to various styles of artwork for this project. Anything from pencil sketches, to full color drawings, to pastels, to paintings, to 2D digital photoshop/illustrator art, to crazy 3D modeled/textured art. Or any other artform that you can think of that is static and could have a photo taken of it to be printed on a card. So that could mean even modeling or sculpting the required creation, painting it and then taking a photo of it.
I'll basically be taking the artwork, breaking it up into the required game components doing some post processing work (borders, name plates, etc.) and what not. Then finally printing it out onto game cards so that I have a set to go with my game rules. And of course I would make a copy of the game for any artist involved and send it to you for your pleasure and some feedback.
This is basically a for fun thing that I have always wanted to do, but my art skills are somewhat lacking outside of the miniature painting realm.
Hit me back if you have any interest or want to help out.
