Hey does anyone know where I could find an all encompasing storyline. I can only find bits and pieces here and there and it sucks to try and put it together.

I understand that Scissors can beat Paper, and I get how Rock can beat Scissors, but there's no f'n way Paper can beat Rock. Paper is supposed to magically wrap around Rock leaving it immobile? Why the hell can't paper do this to scissors? Screw scissors, why can't paper do this to people? Why aren't sheets of college ruled notebook paper constantly suffocating students as they attempt to take notes in class? I'll tell you why, because paper can't beat anybody, a rock would tear that gak up in 2 seconds. When I play rock/ paper/ scissors, I always choose rock. Then when somebody claims to have beaten me with their paper I can punch them in the face with my already clenched fist and say, oh gak, I'm sorry, I thought paper would protect you, you donkey-cave.

It's a really long story line broken into many parts but a good place to start putting the whole thing together is a very good wikipedia site here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Ones_%28Warhammer_40%2C000%29

Very shortly summarized: First there were the old dudes. The old dudes explored the universe and said "It is good". Then the old dudes ran into the bitter dying dudes and left them, bitter and dying because they followed the Star Trek rule number 1 of non-interference. The bitter dying dudes found the star dudes and were mostly eaten, save a precious few who were turned into the dead metal dudes. They chased the old dudes. The old dudes begot the frog dudes, the elf dudes, the mushroom dudes, the orangutang dudes, and many others as well to beat the dead metal dudes and the star dudes. The begotten of the old dudes taint the other place and this ends up killing the old dudes because the other place was the only place to hide other than this place. Then some stuff happens, the star dudes eat a lot of stuff including most of eachother, and promptly the last 4 get full and go to sleep. The elf dudes are almost dead but everything else starts growing and prospering again.

Then the Space Emperor dude is born and humans pwn with ez. Space Emperor has kids, loses his kids, finds his kids, loses a lot of his kids to bad stuff in the other place, fights with his kids, gets semi-dead and put in a big life support system. Humans still pretty much pwn with ez but don't pwn as hard as they used to. Then everyone attacks everyone a lot with nothing really changing over thousands of years other than a whole lot of humans are born and a whole lot of humans die, and thus we arrive at the present.

haha ok. So were the humans created by anyone or just came about by themselves?

Oh yeah and the chaos gods are they really gods like i mean were they always around or did they just come into existence and are just really powerful?

Thanks

Ok, so this one time the Space Elves got really (x2) smashed and did lots of naughty things and when they woke up they had a wicked nasty hangover which was so wicked nasty that it sent most of the Space Elves into early retirement and then the wicked nasty hangover got bored and ran off to join the Space Circus but the Space Circus really (x2) does not like wicked nasty hangovers so they called it names like Slaanesh and told it to go away.

Humans were begotten by the old dudes. Chaos god dudes came about because of all the psychic energy flooding the other place which is how the other place (the warp) became the bad place (the warp, but bad).

ha crash course in 40k storyline thanks. So C'tans and Old Dudes are only original races?

Fort Campbell

The humans where not begottin by the Old Dudes.

The Old Ones where defeated some 65 million years ago. Humanity as we know it today will have only existed for about 600,000 years by the time the 41st Millenium roles around.

The only two races created by the Old Ones that are still running around are the Eldar, and the Orks.

Doh, you're right. Humans were not a creation of the old ones. That just made me realize an inconsistency in the fluff reguarding the Nightbringer... Anyways, humans were probably the result of natural evolution of a species that occured much later after the "war in heaven" where the old ones fought the C'Tan.

Super ancient history of the old ones up through the fall of the eldar (space elfs) is kind of vague and general spanning huge ammounts of time, but once you get up to where the age of man comes into play, lots of little things and battles happen rather than catastrophic universe changing things.
