Well, it seems that all the fluff in the three new codices is leading to only one conclusion, the nids are on the way and both the Imperium and the Tau will have to fight them off to fend for thier survival. What do you think is going to happen? Tau & Imperium fighting side by side? (god I hope not) Also, it seems that all three of the new codices have made the armies more powerful, Nids & Tau in particular (Marines didn't really need a boost and it seems as though Tau & Nids have been suped up to be a fair challenge to them) do you think this is going to be an ongoing trend?

definitly. in every new Codex there is more than one new shiny thing which makes the army stronger. just look at the revises 3. editon codicies: Imps, Chaos (espiacilly chaos)
for myself, I wouldn't mind at all to see Empire and Tau fight alongside if the threat is big enough. they signed a non-agression treaty and when has this happended before in the mughty Imperium of humanity. but why Tyranids? Gazkhull is still out there.

Because IMHO Grazgull is near Armageddon, which isn't anywhere close to the eastern fringe where the Tau/Ultramar are.
I think eventually we will see another Tyranid campaign (Similar to Ichar), but it's going to be awhile. We have had Ichar (Tyranids), Armageddon (orks), EOT (Chaos), and now Medusa... which doesn't feature any massive attack and is the Albion for 40K apparently. My guess... Necrons next time for campaign.

An Adeptus Mechanicus would lend itself nicely to a Necron Campaign. And for an added drama, the campaign could take place CLOSE to Terra, giving the campaign a false sense of urgency. And we all love that. Or, if Eldar and Ordo Xenos are the next big codexes (Not SM chapters), we could see another Imperial Crusade.

Does anyone know what the next codex will be? I have had red shirts tell me it is going to be Cityfight but I usually get more reliable info here. I don't see why they would release Marines, 'nids, Tau to have the next campaign be something else.

From what I've gathered across all of the "News and Rumors" posts, the order is scheduled to be: "Cities of Death" - Summer '06 "Eldar" - November '06 "Dark Angels" - Early '07 Orks are also supposed to be "coming soon" but who knows when that will be...

I dunno about the Tau allying with the imperials...The Tau havn't really had to deal with a tyranid threat, and the new Aun'va character seems like a bastage. They've started the Third Sphere expansion which involves incorporating a few new imperial systems into the tau empire.
