Browsing around instead of working, I came across this little gem:

Apparently the actual Obliv forums have a lot more in-depth performance ideas (many including actually going into game files and modding bits and bobs to get better FPS rates), but this is enough to get me going without having to devote a huge chunk of time to it.

Any other peeps who have the PC version might consider checking the article out.  I found it very interesting, and nothing too technical for the less-tech savvy amongst us...

Now where's my fiancee's old system... must scrounge RAM chips...

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Disappointed to find my new Radeon x850 is not that good for Oblivion.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

Heh, I know the pain.  I was on a different site that told you how to upgrade certain X800's to some kind of uber-next-gen configuration.  Of course, my version is the one that the guide said to avoid at all costs...
