So I've been playing Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2.

...which is fine; until I get to the point in the Imperial campaign when the Agrippina sector is unlocked, and then as soon as I move a fleet anywhere the game immediately crashes to desktop. Which is less fine...

I've played the campaign twice to this point now, and the same issue has occurred both times, so I don't think that it's just an unlucky bug.

I can't find anybody else reporting this issue online. Has anyone here encountered the same problem? Does anybody know of a fix for it?

Played through it some time ago and did not have this issue. Did you try the classic solution of uninstalling/reinstalling? You can create a backup for your save file first.

I played it a month or two back and I didn't have any issues. I didn't finish the campaign, but I did get past the Agrippina sector fine.
