Hey guys, I've been a lurker on here for quite some time--especially when I'm looking for some obscure rules reference or base measurement haha.

I'm a huge warhammer fan, have god knows how many X0,000 points of painted armies (CSM, Daemons, Nids, Orks, CK) and have always wanted a cool-looking, plastic, modular terrain set that fit together like LEGO. I hated always having to "do my best" when setting up boards to mimic RTT layouts or GW GT layouts.

So, I decided to make my own. I've designed a system of modular, injection-molded terrain (molds are done and everything... and now I understand why GW minis cost what they do, oof,) and wanted to share it with this community. I'm not trying to make a million bucks, but more interested in sharing a cool product with other players and hoping to make playing a bit less of a hassle.

http://get.snotgoblingaming.com/21

A full table set is 500 components, like 10lbs of plastic, and MORE than enough to build out competitive terrain setups. There are also terrain template packs printed on 0.5mm PET that matches the aesthetics and allows it to conform 1:1 with all GW terrain layouts.

The link send you to a landing page, where you can put in a $1 reservation for that gives you the right to buy either a full-table set for $100 off + a single ruin add-on, or a half-table set for $60 off. (making a full table $199 and a half table $99).

The $1 is just a nominal fee to give me an idea of purchase intent, so I can try and have enough sets produced at the end of the Kickstarter to meet demand and ship immediately.

I ran a succesful kickstarter with a first version of the product last year, and Goonhammer did a review on it (https://www.goonhammer.com/snot-goblin-gamings-modular-terrain-the-goonhammer-review/). I took all of their feedback, made it prettier, and am re-releasing it on February 20th! I'm working with Goonhammer on a couple articles about the process and a review for the new version.

Also, as a stretch goal, I want to make an imperial world that is infected/being invaded by Tyranids! I'm working on the designs now.. hopefully they'll be ready by the time I finish painting my invasion fleet... eventually...

Please, check it out, and let me know what you think! Thanks guys!

Looks surprisingly sturdy for modular terrain. Well done. Love to see projects like this.

Usually pretty weary on these kinds of things, but looks like some solid stuff. Looking forward to seeing it release.

LunarSol, if you'd seen the first version ~18 months ago, you'd be right to be wary haha.

This time around, I had a lot more experience and a much clearer goal-and I'm absolutely psyched about how it turned out. It's really awesome stuff, and I can't wait to get it out to players

This looks like a very interesting project and I hope you do well.

I clicked around your site and found the discount bundle available for reservation, but what stopped me was, I would like to see a picture of everything I would get with it all in one place. The 2x, 2x, 2x, 2x, 2x, I can't really visualize. I'd be more interested if I could physically see all in one photo what I could make out of the bundle.

Fair criticism! I only have a limited amount of prototypes at the moment-and fully plan on having photos of the full set once I have enough of it myself!

It's a cool concept and I can see potential for it to expand out to faction-specific terrain (like Ork buildings all cobbled together or some kinda Necron-y looking things)

Website looks like it's from 1990 which I don't think is working in your favour and I've never heard of a reservation fee before which doesn't give me the best vibe but what do I know

Seems cool. Best of luck with it

I play Orks and write about Warhammer 40K stuff at iplay40k.com

Add a .stl pledge.

Seems that .stl's will hit that FOMO crowd of gamers who might not buy physical product b/c they don't play the game much, lack storage, or aren't sure about the price and/or risk.

I'd sure like to know what percentage of .stl's gamers actually print vs. store on their hard drive! If it's anything like my Humble Bundle purchases, it's... okay, I've yet to read anything I've bought on Humble Bundle.

Hi Ced, you're definitely not the first person to ask about that. I'm strongly considering it as an Add-On for $39, but not as its own reward. The reward tiers will be template pack ($29), half table set ($99), and full table set ($199). I think having an add-on .stl pack that can be purchased with the template pack would be a fair compromise.

Just came across this on Kickstarter. It's a nice concept. I'm curious to see what you have in mind for stretch goals - some doors and a interlocking floor/roof sections so that complete buildings can be built would be nice, as at the moment the build options for the set are a little limited.

At the moment its definitely looks like its primarily an L-Shaped Ruins solution. I'd definitely be interested in seem other terrain types in the future.

Stretch goals have been added, starting at $550,000, but no mention of what they are other than a comment that they are 'new components'.

Having just moved (AGAIN) I cannot tell you how important storability and transportability is. So good on you for seeing and meeting that need.

If I can make a recommendation, I would add that stackable terrain is a niche no one seems to be filling.

IE buildings that taper and can be stacked inside each other like plastic flowerpots or food containers.
