Was windowshopping again on the main GW site and realized there is a proverbial flockton of models for Necromunda available in 2024. And with so many exotic looking models, personalities and oddball stuff on display, got me thinking what a wonderful resource these could be for modelling stuff for 1st edition 40K, Rogue Trader.

Anyone doing this already? Let's see some picts!

Also, is this a thing already? Any communities online showcasing this sort of stuff?

As an example, the Orlocks have that generic 80's scifi "thug" look down nicely, could work for a random paramilitary faction well, needing weapon and head swaps at the most. Cawdor could be made to all sorts of cultists or riff raff with "improvised weapons"..

Are the scales of models in Necromunda and regular 40K comparable? Seems a bit hit and miss at times..

Mainly just looking for further inspiration on the topic

A couple of years ago I added several boxes of current Necromunda Gangs to my Guard force as conscripts.

Sorry, no pics as the Guard cases are in storage atm.

I painted up some Orlocks as enemies in five Parsecs from home, and an in the process of adding new characters bit b(u)y bit. A lot of them work very well as special characters, objectives, VIPs ...

My 40K Astra Militarum army contains some Necromunda models, as well as various other models (including non-GW models). Mostly Orlocks and Escher metal models from the 1990s release of Necromunda, though I do have an Orlock gang for the current version of Necromunda, some of them sometimes make an appearance in my 40K army.

Regarding scale, Necromunda models tend to be a bit bigger than most 40K humans. Not enough for me to care too much, though others might be more fussy. If you're comparing them to Rogue Trader era models then you might find them pretty large.

Sadly I couldn't find the Orlocks, but they should be the size of the Cawdor/Van Saar

Playing mostly Necromunda and Battletech, Malifaux is awesome too!

I use Necromunda models as NPC style Nobles in a skirmish campaign where they can be recruited by a GSC or a Chaos Cult.

Not the current models, but my classic Necromunda models are some of my favorite figures of all time and have seen use in a number of rulesets.

Most recently we did a rogue trader style scenario using the Space Weirdos rules with vintage Eldar and Escher figures.
