So I got ahold of the new Kill Team versus box (Salvation), mostly for discounted plastic Striking Scorpions, but I've never painted Space Marine Scouts.

The main problem I have with Scouts, however, is that my main SM army is Deathwatch, who don't - as a rule - field scouts (and yeah, if you use a different detachment you can, but you know GW will kill that the moment a DW codex drops). I'm not going to put primaris scouts in my Salamanders or Crimson Fists, so I either go Knights of Gryphonne or Death Eagles. I chose Death Eagles! It's been about 4 years since I did any models for them.



I kept them mostly magenta, because I did my regular Death Eagles https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/787124.page in such a way that each had their own heraldry, but scouts are newbs, so they not only end up more uniform but also with less gold and white to denote their lowly status (also, there's very little trim on these marines).

Also, I gave them helmets! Because painting faces sucks and Phobos helmets look fine on them.
