Are there budget friendly airbrushes that I could start out with? Hopefully a compressor that is not too expensive and fairly quiet

My advice is to not go too cheap with the brush. The Badger Patriot 105 is an outstanding first airbrush IMO. It's a great brush, beginner-friendly, total workhorse, and flexible (you can get different sizes of needles for it). It's still the brush I use most.

When it comes to compressors, you can look to save a little money. I'd look at a Master series compressor and tank combo or one of its many knockoffs/variants. The tank version will cost a little more but means your compressor won't have to work as hard. It's worth it. You might need an adapter for the hose to make it interface with a Badger airbrush but those are available.

Okay will think about the badger 105, Seems like I can get it for 85 dollars. Not sure still on compressors, I search master series and come up with a lot and not sure what would work well for a airbrush. Not sure what tubing will need and anything else

Not sure what air hose and what else I would need, Plus what paints are best and still affordable with airbrushing?

To each their own.
I went with the most budget airbrush because as it turns out, it is better to learn and break a cheaper one.
My first airbrush was a GreenStuffWorld with a portable pump.
https://www.greenstuffworld.com/en/163-airbrushes#
I couldn't find the pump that I got from them on their site, perhaps they don't sell it anymore, possibly because there are way cheaper pumps for nail artists. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806399054363.html?spm=a2g0n.productlist.0.0.446f3778oVHeay&browser_id=e7e3b92f78b44ff7bd3e659892f97b68&aff_platform=msite&m_page_id=shvhduocaawqmrux18f36d6610e162f98e7c220752&pdp_npi=4%40dis%21USD%2149.60%214.89%21%21%21357.58%2135.21%21%402103248517146119703055150eeaca%2112000037731971765%21sea%21US%210%21AB&algo_pvid=8c5d99c0-e557-4a26-a99a-0713bdcf7ca8
At some point I want to get those to test..
That one https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/90/780044.page#11302866
In the process of learning cleaning paint clogs i over tightened the nib in and cracked it.
The portable pump is lower pressure, needs constant charging, good for small jobs.

Now I got that general.pnumatic compressor with an airbrush, and second airbrush kit that was on clearance sale to test out. So far works great.

https://www.harborfreight.com/air-tools-compressors/air-spray-guns/airbrushes-kits/1-5-hp-58-psi-compressor-and-airbrush-kit-95630.html
Pump gets really really hot when used for few hrs strait. Very high pressure and goes through paint like a 1960s Pontiac Grand Prix through gas.

If you can afford dedicated miniature set with quality tools, even if they might be a bit overpriced Get those! In fact, I would check with your local hobby store to see if they cary airbrush kits, and order through them to support local business.
It is just fun for me to find and repurpose cheapest tools from other fields to the hobby and see if I can make them work to prove a point

Thank you all

I think I will first try painting with a brush and hold off on the airbrush. At least until I get more into this and keep me from spending more money.

I bought a Master Series airbrush from Amazon. It was $29-$39. It worked…ok…but it was good for me to get comfortable with using, disassembling, and cleaning an airbrush. Then I bought a Patriot 105 that I use all the time. Very reliable, as Gorgon said.

I connect mine to a Black and Decker air compressor that I use for my nail gun. I can dial it down to 20 psi and it works a treat. Definitely not a ‘hobby’ compressor. I also have a small tankless compressor for quick jobs.

When I searched on Amazon, the master airbrush also comes as a kit with a master hobby compressor. Can’t speak to their quality, though.

Poorhammer just did a vid on Airbrushing: What to buy, etc: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFjBspaQ8uQ&t=2123s&pp=ygUKcG9vcmhhbW1lcg%3D%3D
I bought a $40 compressor/ airbrush on Amazon and though the brush sucks, I can use my expensive Eclipse brush with it and no problems (other than it only has 2 settings "Low" (40 psi) and "High" (45 PSI)...). Stay away from YouFU! It's an F YOU!
I also just bought some Mr. Surfacer primer and though it was $10 for 1.4 oz, I'm hoping I can thin it a bit so that it outdoes a $20 spray can. Anyhoo, airbrushing is just like any other tool- you can watch vids on it, but just like a normal brush YOU have to figure out how it's best effective in YOUR hands!
