Backed! I don't really need another guard project, but these look too good to pass up. Plus, with the way the arms are designed it shouldn't be any trouble to equip them with autoguns and make myself some Lost and/or Damned.

I dunno if you're taking requests Mad, I've been painting GW Mordians and thinking how much I would love some on guard duty, rifle on the shoulder or at port arms (across the body at 45 degrees).
A single body with head options would be cool for honor guards and such. I don't know if anyone but me would buy it but...

@Kid_Kyoto: What regiment style?
518
Post by: Kid_Kyoto
I'm thinking of an honor guard so something like the Imperial regiments you have, braid, epaulettes, choice of heads. You already have the models, I just really want the 'guard' pose versus firing.
22506
Post by: firmlog
I'd add, syled as US Army Honor guard, or USMC same. I know there's lots of other good Honor Guards out there, so anything like that with Various covers n such.
On a side note. No one's really done this rightly in my opinion. But, I've been thinking for a long time about Laslock(loch?). A laser rifle styled after a wheel lock musket for those sudo primitive style regiments. GW Mechanicus is the closest I've seen, but thats still not correct. Think ornamented master crafter musket, but with a laser tip and say a battery clip, relatively close to the trigger mechanism.

Hi folks, my Patreon and MMF Tribes are now live.
In return for your monthly support, you'll receive a selection of STL files for your personal use. Every 3-4 months I will start a new regimental project and by the completion of that project, supporters will receive a full range of unit types for a fairly complete imperial guard army. I'll also be asking supporters for their thoughts on upcoming projects.
More info is available on the sites. Thanks for your attention, I would love to have your support.

I would never use the word regret but, sometimes, I'm annoyed that I never prioritised picking up some more if the Bronzino's Galloper Gun bits to knock up a full squad of these.
I think at the time there had just been an article published about the cost of buying a mount for IG squads and character so you could actually create a full Rough Rider army. I think it was the early says of 3rd Ed.
Of course, I'm thinking that with some different heads on the foot soldiers and you've got Vostroyan proxies.

Do you think it best to have all the gear built into these or is it better to leave it all separate so folks can equip them as they want?
51769
Post by: Snrub
I would say keep the gear built in as much as possible. It was, I believe one of the strengths of the above linked stormtroopers sculpts. Sure they were limited in pose, but it looked like they were properly equipped (both in amount of gear and appropriate placement) for the sort of black ops they'd be conducting.
13664
Post by: Illumini
I would think a mix would be good. Sculpted on where it is hard to place separate bits, or where it looks better integrated in the sculpt.
Would be good if they get weapon options to play as Kasrkin

I've decided on gear being separate as the models will be multipart. Kasrkin weapon options might happen, we'll see.

Holy smeg these ST's are amazing!
Just what I fancy as scions for my current regiment. there was me wondering which bits to source and scratch build to make something akin to classic 3rd ed stormtroopers, and you've gone and done it!
damn, if I but had access to a 3d printer I'd've backed this in an instant.
however you said previously resins available form the store in april? is that still on the cards?
one other inpertinent question, how do they scale against gw's new cadian range? (which are a little tall these days...)

Resin version will be available sometime in May. They scale up slightly short vs the new tall cadians.

good to know, MR thanks...
Slightly shorter is ideal. As no other guard I own from any 3rd party or gw themselves would match otherwise, LOL!

I suppose there are worse movies casts to base a group of jungle fighting Ogres on.
Make one a Carl Weathers tribute and you may have access to some of my cash!

Ooh, the sapper heads and torsos could work well for my fantasy projects with minimal effort.
There's plenty of room to sculpt/paint a crest on that torso.

If you don't mind some thoughts, the guns on the Desert Ogres look very front heavy, I think the handle should be forward a bit and there should be more to the back, whether a stock or just more mass.
Also I'd like riot police Ogres!

Ooh! Those hat heads would look really good on some wild west and Malifaux stuff as well as making some really interesting Guard units.
Hell, I'd probably use the tophats for mages or ratcatchers in my fantasy stuff

A nice assortment! Really digging the "Mask Only" ones. Reminds me of one of the rarer IG heads (I think one came in the Valkyrie kit).

The mask-without-helmet is in the Baneblade kit. The Valkyrie kit has a head with helmet and mask. Both have masks in a similar style to the Armageddon Steel Legion.

That's my fault for not taking a closer look.
However, having worked a lot with your resin models, it's not a difficult thing to convert. The neck is easy enough to access, unlike some similarly prone metal troopers I've seen.

Prone chaps looking fantastic!
Just looking over your ogre previews.
Lovely stuff. Can't help but ask though, are cdf ogres (or heads) possibly likely to be a thing in the future?

Ha, my first thought was Devo “Whip It” heads until I noticed the buckles and brims. Maybe Devo heads might be a future thing for kitbashing odd scifi civilians or weird musical cultists. lol

Melee arms suitable for a fantasy setting. Swords, maces, spears, axes bill hooks, bardiches, shields, and some more random stuff like a hand with a coiled rope, maybe a net, lantern, torch, knives, brass knuckles, etc.
