Two Leviathan dreads and three Firestrike Turrets. Next up on the plate is ten Farrow Brigands, their unit attachment, and Rorsh and Brine. That's a fairly large block of work, but it's the last few things that I owned at the start of the year. It's not really defeating The Pile of Shame but it's a symbolic victory

30 Persian Archers done, and all their infantry is now finished. Also, completed the light cavalry units.

The last thing is about 12 heavy cavalry troops and the Persian army is done and backlog is back to 0.

I finished up my last Persians, bringing my Pile of Shame to 0 models.

I will probably be taking a short break from painting until the new year. So, for 2023 I finished 345 models, with 220+ being 28mm; the rest being smaller scales.

However I finished the following big projects:
1. Two Trireme Fleets
2. Communist Air Force- Korean War
3. USAF - Korean War
4. Dark Age Irish Army
5. Ancient Persian Army

Last update for this year. I finished my Oathmark, and Scythian armies! I've started work on my Arab army, but I'm counting it, and the extra minis I ordered for it for 2023.

Done:
Spoiler:

Ancients:

16 Final Pontic Infantry
9 Sarmatians and Bactrian Lancers
12 Macedonian Pikemen
12 Asavaran Armoured Horse Archers
24 Dailami Infantry
24 Scythian Light Horse
12 Scythian Nobles
16 Persian Foot Archers
24 Scythians Infantry
12 Medium Horse Archers
7 Scythian Command Figures
A camp with 2 wagons

Oathmark:
6 Mounted Xbow
20 Foot Knights
12 Knights
6 Ogres
40 Xbows
3 Witches
2 Princess
1 Dragon
2 Catapults
30 Spearmen
30 Soldiers
20 Elven Archers
6 Cavalry
3 Champions
2 Teuton Grandmaster

In the end I painted 232 Infantry, 100 cavalry, 10 Characters, 7 Monsters, 2 Catapults and 4 chariots. As well as 32 Infantry started last year but finished this year.
Purchased 68 Infantry, 5 Cavalry, 7 Monsters, 2 Catapults, 10 Foot characters, 3 Mounted characters. Some for my Oathmark Humans, which I painted, others for an Undead army, that never got started.

From my start of year goals I managed to complete 4. 2 big projects, and 2 small ones.

Pontic (Finish off) - Complete
Scythians - Complete
Roman Slave Revolt
Gauls
Huns
Arabs - 2023!
Oathmark Fantasy - Complete

Minor Additions:
Sassanid Persians - Complete
Macedonian Successors- Partial

Congrats on defeating The Pile!

Finished that squad of Brigands and Rorsh & Brine this evening, so at least The Pile that I started with is finished. No way I get anything else knocked out before midnight, December 31st, good luck to anyone else trying to beat the clock on those last few models.

Update with just a few days to go...

KoW Northern Alliance army. Very little further progress on the planned 1500 pt army; just a bit of work on the Blood Rage Viking minis, and some repairs.

For F28:
Five chaos space marine bikers
One chaos lord biker
-- very nearly finished

One space dorf airship (converted toy)
-- this is mostly built but I'm still wrapping my head round some of the more complex aspects.

One space dorf land train (bought as a 3D print)
-- built, primed, and painted (and in the pic below).

One space dorf drill vehicle (converted toy)
-- conversion finished, primed, and painted (and in the pic below).

At least two squads of space dorfs
-- a lot more than two squads built and primed, and a fair few more finished other than basing (and in the pic below).

Space dwarf army so far is below -- more detailed pics on my P&M blog.

Yay, I didn't have to start it this year!

Also, congrats on sliding one more finished unit in under the wire.
