Gnomes just seem like a waste of resources. I don't think there's enough nostalgia bait for a long-forgotten unit (last seen in 3rd edition fantasy) to draw many sales.

Umm. It's bloodbowl team. Many bb players have multiple teams. These provide new team to buy.

It's not unit inside army. Blood bowl doesn't have armies. The team is all there is.

Box or two, big guy or two. Your team complete.

I'm aware its a blood bowl team. But its based on a unit that used to exist in WFB, but hasn't since third edition.
Its not a hard concept. Nostalgia for things people don't even remember doesn't drive sales, even (or especially) in a new format.

They always brought back things most people didn't know/remember from time to time. Fimir, those weird old Chaos Dwarf war machines (though not the Boar centaurs), Zoats, Gyrinx, Jokaero, Toad Dragon, a Snakeman (albeit not Chaos), a range of spindly Orcs straight from the 80's, Elementals, some Regiments of Renown (seriously: who remebered Mengil or Ruglud when they got their re-release?) and so on. Amazones and Norse were kept alive in memory with Blood Bowl and the Lustria campaign, otherwise they had been forgotten too.

It's not wrong to dig out some old concepts, whether people remember them or not. If they like them, they will buy them.

I bet the goose or badger goes right up on top 3, model of the year -24.

Only reason they wouldn't is the vote spilt between badger/fox/goose.

Mini of the Year tends to have votes for boxes as a whole, not individuals within those boxes.

I don't strictly mind that gnomes exist, but it feels like GW is scraping the bottom of the barrel just so they don't have to make the Khemri team. That's pretty weak.

The mek is okay, I guess. Some good bits for lootin', a gob that doesn't look Orky, nothing great, really.

The Custodes captain looks bad to me for all the reasons discussed already. Most disappointing is that it seems like the last model Custodes need. How many captains are you going to have in your army? Should have been a Sister of Silence HQ or something completely different. Anything, as long as it's not the umpteenth captain.

I can appreciate more Darkoath.

Hardly the most exciting preview this time around.

Nehekhara lives! Sort of!
Why is the rum always gone?
