Zinge made a handrail kit for the FW resin deimos rhino's - might fit the plastic ones too?

While the handrails added a nice sense of scale to the model, they were super brittle. I don't think I've ever seen a model with intact rails on both sides! If I was to remake to og kit, I'd make sure those rails would be some sort of metal or at least brass..

…and the top hatch handles, and the rear antennae, and the tiny curved tops of the four exhaust stacks... It was a brittle kit made from brittle plastic.

Mine are mostly still intact, having survived several moves. For any broken exhausts, I cut up a small hollow styrene tube as a replacement bit.

The Zinge hand rails look more sturdy, and it looks like you could swap in a brass rod for the central rail piece.

It was. I still have that box. It vanished pretty quickly during 2nd Ed though, and never returned.

Had to wait 'til after Epic 40,000 came out before we saw the new Land Raider.

Mine too. They're glued in place permanently now.

And both the handrails on my original Rhino are broken too.

Problem with those rails is the fact that they are quite thick compared to the original ones. Now I totally understand why they did that (gameworthy!), but them being that thick doesn't empahsize the scale of the model as well as the original bits did.

I remember using those old Rhino handrails on the crew platforms of the original DE Raider so that I could actually put models on the Raider when the troops embarked (the Warrior bases slid right under the rail and that kept the models from falling off).

Ahh the side bars! Yes, Imo it was an important feature to the aesthetic of the chassis. I added some to my Rhinos (this was before the Diemos came out), in addition to the running board, to add some of the OG look.

The fist ones I did were in brass, but it turned out that the paint had trouble sticking to it very well, even after primer. I went back and upgraded them to some product that was metal on the inside (I think steel, because they respond to magnets), but with a rubbery-plastic coating that the paint adheres to much nicer.

Have any of these been delivered recently, or was it just the first few that came straight away?

The RT book I bought from Warhammer World turned out to be slightly damaged when I unwrapped it at home. When I emailed photos and asked for a replacement they did a Print to Order order for me, rather than sending a replacement. I've actually done a pretty good repair on the one I have because they said they didn't want it back, but I would have expected a replacement to be sent direct from Warhammer World. Seems a strange attempt at customer service for a damaged item bought in-store.

I think some got sent out (probably totally emptying their stock), the rest will be made to order (they never seem to have much stock given how frequently warhammer world runs out for months at a time)

Yep Made to Order stuff like that will likely have had a bunch of stock on hand and then the rest will take their time. Right now I'd not expect to see them till the other side of Christmas.

I'm assuming I'm not getting mine until much closer to the 180 day mark...

I ordered mine in the magic window of the old web store where orders are disappeared. I've emailed about it and they're adamant it's still going ahead but I'm less sure. Only time will tell I guess.

Approx armies
9000pts AdMech (Main army)
7000pts Black Templars (original army)
3500pts Death Guard (lazy side project)
2000pts Imperial Knights (extension of AdMech)
2000pts Harlequins (fun side project)

Ditto. I placed mine during the period just before the new webstore came into effect. I've been told that it's going ahead but won't show in my order history until it's dispatched. I feel like that should be an easy fix to get up on their site but given it keeps asking me what country I live in each time....classic Administratum.

Made to Order items may see a hidden extra 60 days tacked on, it's happened to my Gaunts Ghosts books order, which was originally a 120 day waiting time, but has been bumped up to 180 now after I got in touch with GW. In my case they claimed to not have printed up enough books.

I recall at least one other made to order fulfilled overseas first. It might be GW does overseas on them first since in theory they would have the longest lead times (since the item has to arrive or be made at GW and then sent overseas in bulk shipments). So get those sorted first then deal with the domestic ones.

Well, and as I said, that they didn't lose it.
Since I made my order just before GW ruined the web store, and it doesn't show up in my order history, even though they answered my inquiry, "Trust us, bro. We didn't lose it."

It's a book GW have had on shelf for a while at Warhammer Worlds. So I think an initial wave went out right then and since then they've been doing waves of releases. It's not uncommon for some made to order. Though oftne with books they just do one big order.
