Thank you, all! Greatly appreciated.

Yeah, Samus has printed pretty well. Like BONES, the bigger the model, the better.

For December's open round, I will be painting Velma. A 3D printed pinup. Should be a good time.

And speaking of Samus.

Here she is a little closer to complete.

Always a lot on the go. Thanks for looking!

Wow you’ve been busy! Razorfang looks aces, the highlighting style suits him really well.
Love the blue helmet on the Mando, works great with the black. Quite a collection of them you have now too.
I’m afraid your daughter wins the thread for Fiesta Grogu
Orange zoat might win it back for you

Thanks, aku, gobert!

Working on Velma and the Zoat. Also picked up a 3D printer of my own. Brrrrr...

Another Samus. Dark Zero Suit.

And an Atlas. Tried printing this guy on the school printer over the summer. Didn't go well. Pooped out after printing for days. Have learned since then. Broke up the model, made quite a difference.

Always more on the go. 3D printers are the devil. Thanks for looking!

Onward we press.

More work on the Zoat.

More work on Velma.

And finished printing the Atlas. He looks like he's dancin'.

Not a lot of time this week. Hoping to gain some ground soon. Thanks for looking!

Loads of orange-flavored progress Looking forward to seeing Velma literally come together, painting in pieces is a smart big brain move but also so unsatisfying for me when I do it. I can tell at this point, however, that she's definitely thicc

Congrats on the new printer, looks to be pumping out great stuff!

Nice work on Velma so far! Gonna be a beaut when it's done!
Looking forward to seeing Samus painted as well.

3D printer surely brings a new element to the hobby. So many awesome models out there.
I'm always sending new STL files to a friend to print. I'm dreading the day when he finally says "no more, get your own!" haha.

The zoat is looking fantastic, lots of orange.

Great skintone on the disembodied Velma too!

Thanks, you two! She is coming along, slowly. Zoat, too. And speaking of 3D printing...

Merry Crysmas! A crysknife I found poking around for other files to print. Made a few for friends and a few more for me and the kids. Long live the fighters!

And as a surprise for my son, new blades for the Predator gauntlet we made a while back. The originals were just cardboard. Besides looking a little ratty, they didn't hold up well. Now he has something that looks the part and won't crumble at the slightest pressure.

Happy holidays and Merry Christmas to you and your families. May Emperor Santa bless you with many new minis. Thanks for looking!

Variety is the spice, Cap'n!

Working away on Velma. Hoping the next few days get me there. Started assembly, at least. Still a ways to go. Mostly skin. Actually, just skin and hair.

Little preview. Thanks for looking!

Oh man - getting flashbacks to watching Linda Cardellini in the early 00s Scooby Doo films and realising there's more important things in the world than Lego and dinosaurs...

Nylon knit is a super impressive print detail. Looks like you're having fun with the printer and you're not the only one benefit - bet the boy is chuffed with his Predator kit.

Looking forward to more!

Thank you, thank you!

3D printer is fun. And a problem. Oh, well. More models were gonna happen anyway.

Velma's done. Pretty happy with the results. There's a few things I would probably do differently, but on the whole I am good with how she is going to look on the shelf.

Jinkies!

She's another big'un. Next month, something small-ish.

Also finished the Zoat. Need to do the base and then pics. That should wrap up 2023, and I don't mind him being the last for the year, as I do love me a Zoat. Probably do a year-ender, since I got a fair bit done this year. At least I think so. Guess we'll see.

Thanks for looking!

And he's done. Tronn, Zoat Bounty Hunter. Made from what was left after putting Jugger Grimlock together, color scheme inspired in no small part by this fellow:

The classic Zoat from (if I recall) the Tyranid army list released in late RT.

And a face off with Jugger. They probably don't get along very well.

And all the classic Zoats together. Just the off-brand BB one to go.

Much appreciated, Cap'n!

That's 2023. Let's take a look back.

Started the year with a dive into Crisis Protocol.

And Song Of Ice and Fire.

One of these would continue, one wouldn't. So, more CP.

Then a quick jump back to 40K to finish my revamp of Maugan Ra. I am still pleased with the results on this one.

Back to CP and a mad Titan with his economy car. Car not pictured.

Enjoyed painting the throne far more than expected.

Then some random stuff, like a Relic Knights mini started years ago.

Knight Models resin mess.

And a Space Marine that has since disappeared from the Warhammer club area. Rumor has it he was taken by the librarian's son to use in games.

GORM!

Things were gribbly for a minute.

Started in on rando Mandos.

Green one may be my least favorite model painted in years. Just didn't work out, in my opinion.

Some more KD.

Need to paint more of this stuff. Piles of it thanks to KS.

Sabine next. Calling this one a success.

Space whales!

A big one, literally and figuratively, the Titan Dragon. Should paint more Rackham minis, too.

Back to gore and CP with Immortal Hulk. If you haven't, read it.

Classic Fett homage.

Silly, but suave.

Taking my advice, painting more Rackham. Fire elemental.

Then 3D printing entered my life. Small Gwenom.

And Gojira.

A different type of leviathan.

Randolorian.

Big Gwenom. Another one I feel is fair to call a success.

Speaking of random, an Inquisitor.

A stealthy Mando.

Not stealthy Growler.

Again, unsubtle. Velma, definitely calling this one a win, paint-wise.

And another victory in the name of getting things out of my head and onto a shelf. Zoat Bounty Hunter. Varnish is doing something weird on the blacks, but it doesn't really show at life size.

So there you have it. I didn't count them, but I think looking back it is a nice bit of work. A lot of fun models. A lot of big models. Have decided taking part in the monthly comp is a solid benefit to motivation and diversity, and for that I am deeply appreciative to all who participate, vote, and especially, keep it running. Think I will keep it up.

Have a safe New Year, and as always, thanks for looking!

Wow, Velma turned out amazing. The face, the skin tones, the crazy texturing on the knitted sweater and stockings, fantastic.

Though I might suggest some 'dropped' glasses on the mini's base, just to complete the effect.

What a year youwashock! Amazing variety and to such a high level. As John pointed out the fabric on Velma is stunning (the rest her ain’t bad either )! The herd of Zoats is immense too, Zoat the Bounty Hunter is a class addition . Loving Stealth Rando and Razorfang too

Thanks, Nev, JP! Sadly, I wasn't given glasses. I suppose they got lost in transit.

Model for January's challenge, From the Shadows. Black Friday Ninja Variant from Kingdom Death. As far as I can tell, "variant" in KD means "less dressed."

Thanks for looking!

I always knew Velma was my favorite Scooby-Doo character! Seriously though, you did great on the model! You got a lot of nice stuff painted over the course of 2023, with Velma and Immortal Hulk being standout pieces IMO.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

Thank you all very much! Greatly appreciate the compliments!

Working away. On too many different things.

Ninja girl is set up to prime like hors d'oeuvres. Not real pleased with the amount of support remnants on this one. "Photo-resin" is just Poots-speak for a 3D print, however, for "boutique" presentation and pricing, you would hope to not have a bunch of supports and nubs on your mini. Using a spare Velma hand for her to balance on.

Other stuff is proof of the danger of owning a 3D printer. Sort of how you will see people that own tattoo guns with strangely placed or incredibly random subject tattoos, a hobbyist with a 3D printer can quickly amass a collection of stupid models. Seen here are Benchy mods (a common 3D print calibration model) done up as a Xenomorph and Cthulhu. Yes, I had to have them. I found them searching out the red models, ships for Man O' War. I have a small collection of official models, but now I can print models I don't have, and make them bigger so they feel more substantial. These were a test run at 120%, and I think that is where I will keep them. Still haven't found High Elf ships, which is too bad. May need to look into something close, instead.

Thanks for looking!

First model I ever 3d printed was a Benchy, and sadly the power went out in my apartment building before the printer finished the top of the smokestack. 3d printing can be an addiction; I just remind myself that I need my resin for actual 40k projects and that I don't have space for totally random bullcrap on my shelves and that keeps me from going overboard.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
