Who are you pulling for in the superbowl? Tom Brady and Randy Moss or the underdog Giants with Eli Manning?
If you have an opinion as to why it would be great if a certain team won, then please post.

I'm personally going for the Patriot, because I'm sick of the Manning brothers. And I think it would be great if finally a team could go undefeated. It happens in soccer(rarely). Why not football?

I'm also pulling for the Patriots, mostly because I'm sick of hearing about the '72 Dolphins.

Well, my first inclination is to say that I'm cheering for the commercials and don't give a Royal Rat's Rump about either team.
Since the Rams barely missed the Superbowl this year, I couldn't care less.

If I have to choose a team, though, I'll pick the Giants. For one, I always pull for the under-dog if I don't have a team in the game and my other reason is two-fold.

I'm (a) sick and tired of hearing about the Pats and (2) they've been to the Bowl often enough recently that I'm sick of seeing 'em, too.

Hah, i only live here. Ill give it to you about the giants beating the packers as i went through horrible abuse having gone to college in WI and not caring about their team. Other than that really, i was never that interested in football. MMA FTW.

Giants, just so the inferior Manning manages to do what Petyon has failed to do so many times, beat Brady.

Also, I'm sick to death of Patriots fans that act as if they somehow deserve this win after so many hard luck times, as if being the current dynasty really doesn't get their proper due.

Never attribute to malice which can rightly be explained by stupidity.

I count 8 votes for Giants based on posts alone. But somehow the polls show 4 for the pats and only 6 for the Giants. Whats up?

The Pats are just such a great story. They sucked for so long, and our hopes were so badly crushed in their two pre-Brady Superbowls (against the ’85 Bears and ’96 Packers), that anyone in New England who cares about football has to feel great for their current success.

Especially after how close we came to this not happening, or to not having a team at all!

Bob Kraft, a season ticket holder since 1972, put his money on the line to buy the land around the stadium in ‘85, then the stadium in ’88 in the hopes that he’d get a shot at the team. Then he got the team and kept them in New England. Then he got the coaches and personnel guys to make it the best team in the league. Kraft spent $25million to get the stadium, then when James Orthwein offered him $75 million to get out of his stadium lease and move the team to St. Louis, instead of taking a tidy 200% profit (and keeping the stadium as well!) he made a counter offer of $175 million to buy the team, the highest price ever paid for a team, which at the time was one of the least successful, least profitable and lowest valued teams in the entire NFL. This was two years before they made it to the Superbowl which they lost to the Packers. This guy is the epitome of an owner who’s a passionate fan, and has done everything to support the New England fans and give us a team to be proud of.

And the team is just great. Prior to this year they’ve very rarely had flashy stats. They’ve primarily been a defense-oriented team, focused on controlling the ball, and usually winning by narrow margins. For years other teams (recently Peyton Manning and the Colts have been the biggie) have put up much more impressive scoring and win records, and have been better teams on paper. Except that the Pats are all about clawing back from behind , making those last second field goals, and pulling out the wins when they count the most. Their first SB win vs the Rams is such a classic game. I’ve watched it twice in the last couple of months on NFL Network, and it encapsulates the same formula as the Colts rivalry. The Pats beat the most dominating offense in the league through great defense and just-good-enough offense.

I can absolutely understand how people who aren’t Pat fans must be sick of hearing about them this season. But the whole thing is like a dream to us. The Colts have started several of their recent seasons with long undefeated streaks. 9-0, 12-0, 13-0… Even to New England fans it always seemed like they’re the team who might be able to break the ’72 Dolphins’ record. Having our always-struggling, never-looks-like-the-best-in-the-NFL team put up numbers like this and make this run is utterly unexpected for us, and is like a crazy and wonderful dream we are just hoping not to wake up from.

Plus it’d be nice to shut Mercury Morris the hell up.

I was watching the superbowl against the rams and I remember thinking they were going to lose and going to bed in disgust. Now I'm so sorry I missed the second half.
I wish the Twins owner was more like Bob Kraft. He's a billionaire who could make the twins just that little bit better that they need to be a world series winner.
Ok now back to football.

Oh, and for anyone who’s sick of Tom- watch and root for Tedy Bruschi, Mike Vrabel, Rodney Harrison, and Kevin Faulk. While we New Englanders are fond of Tom, those guys are just as much or more the face of the Patriots for us.

My favorite player on the patriots has to be Randy Moss. He used to play for Minnesota for one. He was totally washed up when the Pats aquired. I mean come on they got him for a fourth round draft pick and now he's one of the best receivers in the league again.

Randy's a good player who was in a bad system and organization.

Corey Dillon had a bit of a negative reputation at the Bengals too, and he did great work for the Pats.

As a Chargers' fan I'm hoping for a meteorite to hit the stadium.

Junior Seau deserves a ring, so I can live with a Patriots' victory. It's the gloating Patriot's fans that will be unbearable.

The problem I have with Patriots fans is how many of them are just front runners. Seriously, just a few years ago the Pats were one of the worst teams in the league and were that way for a LONG time. I just don't want to hear these chumps at work talking trash on me because I've been a Giants fan for a long time and just a little while ago they were wearing Colts stuff.

I also want to see Strahan get a ring.

The thing is, they're fun to watch play, so there's nothing
wrong with frontrunners. It's like the effect Michael Jordan
had on basketball games-- even if he was beating your
team down, you had to see it happen.
